Family Affair.

So Saturday's show is going to be so much fun. I actually never got to practice with the Bling Boys this week because they were meeting LATE and I have to get up early to be at work, so I'm counting on my ears and my memory to get me through Saturday night's show. The Halloween show was so recent that I think I'm fine, I just need to remember to check my microphone WAY in advance, and no car bombs right before going on stage. (That's a shot, and I *don't* recommend it.)

I've been given the theme for our attire - I was told "Miami club scene to the extreme". So I'm thinking Tara Reid out on the town? Does that sounds right? Maybe a little classier than that? I'm sure whatever I wear will include a short skirt and boots, but I'll hopefully be able to figure out the rest. Don't be frightened.

yayayay. I'm going to pick the Pants up at the airport tonight since he is returning from Minneapolis (business trip. he's a grown-up.) and then we're going to hang out with my sister and her husband for the rest of the weekend. Plans are in the works for watching Tivo'ed Lost (I still haven't seen this week's episode!), running 10 miles on Saturday morning, eating lots of food and knitting. I should probably finish the languishing Jaywalker sock and start the other one since it's for a sock swap and I need a pair. And I'm still working on the Dye-Your-Own-One-Skein-Wonder. I did ribbing and sleeves last night while finishing up Season 4 of Alias (OH MY GOD. The last episode was a little over-the-top, but really good. And I totally watched the bloopers reel and seeing Michael Vartan when he's not in Vaughn character was delicious indeed.):

Probably wouldn't wear this shirt with it, but you get the idea.

I like the way the sleeves are looking, but the body ribbing wasn't doing it for me. I've actually ripped it out, and I think I'm going to try using size 8 needles instead of the 5s. Or maybe just use the 5s but make it longer? I don't want it to disappear the way it does in the picture. I also made the back of this one longer than my first OSW effort and I really like the way it turned out.

The Pants has been gone all week. I have gotten to spend lots of time knitting and hanging out with Bella:

She's on her bed in this picture. I get a little tiny corner of it too.

But I'm ready for him to be home. It gets kinda lonely in our big old country house. And also I kinda suck at cooking. and when I'm alone in the house, I might get crazy with some friends and dye my hair dark brown. Actually, I did do that. Hee.

Hey, Carrie. I just got the OSW pattern and was asking Stefanie about mods that had been done; she pointed me towards your site. I'm wondering: How did your OSW come out in the end? I'd love to hear more about your experience lengthening the sleeves. -Ce (write ce AT gmail)

Wow, I actually left for Minneapolis the 11th...weird.

Our trip was not business - no way! My mom and I went to the Mall of America! It was great fun!

Bella Bella Schmoo Schmoo. Do you ever call "Pants" "Schmoopy Pants" instead of just "Pants?"
I think you totally "schould."

Such a good use of Koolaid! It looks fab.

OMG that picture of Bella Schmoo is adorable. She looks like she is saying, "mommy can I eat that ice cream cone that you didn't take to Anne Marie on knitting night". Or something like that.

I can't belive how quickly you are moving on your one skein wonder. It's really cute. And you have inspired me to try some KoolAid dying myself.

Might I suggest a bikini top, short skirt and hooker/pole dancer shoes (clear plastic really insanely high heels) and lots of bling. For you hair long straight and down with a bang in your eye.
Just saying, I have never been there or anything..................

Oh, if our schmoos knew just how lucky and pampered they are. Somehow I always go to sleep with with the schmoo by my feet, and wake up with his little but in my face! Glad that you had Bella to cuddle while Mr. Pants is away! Love the OSW, that's the prettiest light turquoise on the sleeves.

There are a few banned things in my apartment:
Tequila, Absinthe, Car Bombs.
Love the lovely one skein wonder!

Bellaschmoo!!!

Love the one-skein. Super cute!

Do you find that the additional width and sleeves makes removing the OSW a bit easier? I have a hell of time getting mine off without assitance from my Mr. Pants.

Have fun tonight! Car bomb - yum!! But I'm sure are dangerous when you've got to sing. 10 miles... you rock!

I'm away from my boy too. I hate that. Have fun at the gig! It's so cool you guys both sing. I'm with my sibs this weekend - isn't it so wonderful when you actually LIKE your family? When they're actually your best friends too? We're very lucky.

Have a good one.
