Forecast is so close to being finished...

forecast 044
One sleeve down.
(Yikes. MUST CLEAN MIRROR.)

I've already woven in all my stray ends, so all I need to do is finish the second sleeve, sew the armholes, and add buttons. I'm not gonna lie to you -- I'm not totally convinced that this sweater is going to close (which may be related to my not knitting a gauge swatch, but I guess it's too late for that now...) I'm hoping that a good long soak and blocking will make it just perfect. It will, right?

After I finish this sweater, I've got a list of things I want to knit/finish:

Second Anemoi
Must-Have Cardigan (all that's left are sleeves and finishing)
Maggie (Kim Hargreaves kit)
Trellis (for my nephew)
Simple Knitted Bodice (with stash yarn)

Of course, this whole list may be derailed because I just got Stefanie Japel's new book -- Fitted Knits. Dudes. This book rocks. It's really beautiful -- lovely photos, lovely book design. And then the patterns! I'm loving it. If you've knit any Glampyre patterns before, then the silhouettes of some of the sweaters will be familiar, but the book is definitely a fresh take.

And I may have just gotten myself Elizabeth Zimmerman's Knitting Around as well. Ahem. I've been splurging a bit lately on the knitting paraphernalia. But you look at this Bog Jacket and these Mittens and then TRY TO RESIST GETTING THAT BOOK.

I loves me some knitting blogs for inspiration.

Also: I've also started a new workout routine. It's sort of crazy for me, but so far, so good. I'm going to the gym BEFORE work on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I have to be at work around 8:00, so that means getting to the gym by 6:30am at the very latest. I know some of you (ahem) are sorta used to crazy early hours, but I am not. In fact, I hate the morning very, very much. And I love my snooze button, and I love sleeping late. BUT. I also hate getting home from work and knowing that I still need to run. Getting it out of the way in the morning leaves my whole evening free for knitting and schmoos and watching good TV. Like, ya know, Men in Trees. And Dirt.

hee.

Now, as a reward for reading that whole long post with boring details about my exercise routine, I'm posting a tiny bad quality video from the last Bling show.

Sorry for the weird quality. I'm still working on how to get my videos to look clearer...I might post a better one if I can make it work. But you get the gist. And yes, that's me in the pink stripey skirt.

Hey Carrieoke, did you know someone else posted up a video of Bling at the Athens festival? You're famous!

Absolutely gorgeous sweater. I really love the colour and texture.

Oh my gosh, that was so cool seeing your Bling show!!! You look so ultra-cool and celeb-like up there on stage. :)
And I am so flattered that you've referred to me as Zimmermania inspiration!!! I love Knitting Around, it's my absolute favorite--it's so cool reading all of her anecdotes about her life in between the patterns.

Making the decision to get up early for the gym is the best thing ever.... I get to go home and be lazy every night. I suck at getting up, but at least I can be grumpy on the treadmill by myselflf.... I don't have to talk to anyone.

Love Forecast!!!! So adorable.

Your Forecast is coming along. I'm so far out of the loop on the knitting trends, dag!

I hatehatehate mornings. Yay you for being so dedicated. Oh, and I bow down to your mad knitting skillz, yo.

love the color....the sizing looks good dispite your lack of guage...this sweater looks great opened up anyway.

Forecast looks beautiful.. My sixteen year old daughter saw it on your blog and now wants to knit it also. Just wondering, did you leave off the bobbles? Any other suggestions for her would be great. Thanks

Forecast is looking great! I've often had handknits block to a much larger size than I anticipated, so I don't think you'll have a problem.
Love your list! I've been drooling over the Knitted Bodice too...

Forecast looks great! I can't wait for you to finish it (so hurry up already!). I love me some Elizabeth Zimmerman but AHEM! She would have told you to make a damn gauge swatch. ;)

I had to do a serious blocking on my Forecast, as I too was worried that it wouldn't close. But, I stretched out the ribbing and now it fits really nicely. Good luck!

If the blocking doesn't work, this will make a great open cardigan. Either way, you will work it!

Forecast looks great!!! But I can't see the Bling video :(

Sigh. Oh for the motivation to get up at 6:30. And oh, for such a pretty Forecast. Love it!

dude. a) you are a rock star. b) forecast is beautiful. c) wherever did you find that girl's blog. her stuff is all damn cute and d) i already own knitting around but man who knew about that bog jacket dealybop. man i need to get KNITTIN! but i think maybe i'll go lie on the couch for a while instead. and just THINK about knittin. i don't understand why that doesn't accomplish as much. doh! :) plus i had two glasses of champagne and honestly i am like WASTED which is so pathetic and sad but hello today i wore a jean skirt that last summer was too tight and tonight i could barely keep it on!! ;) so that's good.

p.s. i guess you could say (would HAVE to say) I'm "used to them" now. but i do HATE HATE HATE them. with a passion. the early hours that is. Hate. I took tomorrow off. I'll probably sleep until noon. at the earliest. :)

Your Forecast is quite stylish. I love 'Knitting Around', she is so damn funny! I also have to finish my second Anemoi Mitten, I personally found this project way easier than the Endpaper Mitts, how about you?

Sweater is looking good, baby! And a little snug can be sexaaay...I'm just saying...

It looks fabulous on you (great length) even it may not totally close. I too have come to the conclusion to get my miles in, I must wake up at the ungodly hour of 5:30 or 6am to get in an hour before my day officially begins. This way I can keep up my fitness level while I adjust to my mommy routine.

Forecast looks great. And I totally know what you mean about working out in the morning. I HATE waking up early, but if I get a phone call midday tempting me with dinner or happy hour and my choice is that or the gym...well, you can see where that ends up.

When I was wrestling in college the 6 a.m. practices were attending over the 6 p.m. ones by something like 4 to 1. It was crazy, but it was for the same reason.

Thank goodness I don't have to get up for 6 a.m. practice anymore!

I don't think we've ever gotten to hear you sing before, so it was nice to get a taste of it :)

I got Knitting Around out of the library last week and I can't put it down. I love her writing style and reading about her life story. The Bog Jacket and those mittens are the ones that jumped out at me most from the book, too. Crazy.

Keep plugging along on Forecast, I'm excited to see the end result!

i'm loving forecast! i think it's looking quite awesome at this point. can't wait to see it done!

Oooh, that looks really nice and such a great color!

I'm loving your Forecast. I keep wanting to knit one, but somehow I have yet to cast on for one. And can I just say WOOT! for the KH Maggie kit!! I am *this* close to ordering one of those! It will likely happen very, very soon... I really want both a Felted tweed one and a Wool Cotton one, and since the Felted tweed kit is significantly cheaper than the Wool Cotton one, I will probably go with the tweed one, and hope that the pattern includes instructions for both. (I can get some WEBS discounted Wool Cotton, I'm thinking!).

I need to finish my SKB too. I've also been considering buying the EZ book, and I just might have to now.

Cute video! You weren't at the one Bling show I've been to, so it was nice to actually see you on stage! You guys rock.

Forecast looks fantastic!

YAY! It's like I get to see a bling show even though I cant see Bling shows! WOO! Forecast is lookin' NICE! so jealous.
