Winding Down

So, the Pants had a birthday was November 28, and we did lots of fun things : went to the casino, hung out with his family, ate yummy food in Athens. We also got up at 5:30 on a Sunday the weekend before his birthday to obtain the best birthday present EVER: a Nintendo Wii (pronounced Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!).

playing the wii
The man loves his Wii.

We managed to get one on release day even though we didn't camp out or pre-order. We just got lucky. Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. And dude, I was not all about getting up early that morning, but I am all about the Wii. It is SO MUCH fun. One of my favorite parts is that you can create a little character called a 'Mii' (hee) that you play the games with, and you can make them look like you. So, when Jacob and I play Boxing, it's a tiny Jacob on the screen boxing a little tiny Carrieoke. funfunfun.
Here's Jacob's:

Tiny cartoon Jacob.

Doesn't it look like him? I heart technology. And I heart my Jacob.

Anyways, now that things are starting to slow down at work and my schoolwork is done for the semester, I am really looking forward to more nights like this: right now, I'm sitting on the floor in my den with Jacob and Bella watching Tivoed Studio 60 by a roaring fireplace. Seriously. Jacob had to clean the chimney before we started using it and I'm so glad he did. Chim chim chireeeeeeeee.

Cute schmoos
Cute. Schmoos.

I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy and Christmas-y tonight, so I think I'm going to go knit and relax with my schmoos. Ya'll have a good night, and go give your loved ones a squeeze.

To the family: I added a link to my holiday wish list on the left sidebar (under the Carrieoke cartoon).

Oooh! oooh! We bought a wii too! Chris waited in line two weekends ago and I agree it is too much fun! We can be Wii friends if I can figure out how to add you - then our tiny wii people can hang out. Lemme know if you know how to do it.

I had to stand in line to preorder the Wii for my son. It is awesome. We played bowling & had a ball!!!

Wow a virtual Huasband. My wife has always wanted a virtual Husband. At least she has since she married me.

GET A JOB SLACKERZ! or invite me over for Wii time...ONE OR THE OTHER!!!

Happy belated Birthday, Pants! :)

Wiiiii looks fuuuun :)

ARghhh! You can read about my husband's en-Wii here: http://toysaregoodfood.com/content/archives/000380.html

Basically, although we prepaid and are supporting local stores, no Wii for us still. So sad.

Be careful with that Wii....I heard there has been a recent outbreak of broken tv's and windows due to the strap breaking. Seriously. I think it's kind of funny. I can just see someone really getting into a game, flailing their arms all around and sending the controller thingy into the television set. Hee hee.

Roaring fireplace? Sounds sooooo good.

wiiiiiiiiii!
i can't wait to play and beat snacob.

Hey, I was watching TiVoed Studio 60 last night too!

my pants' birthday is november 28, too! must be a great birthday for boyfriends. and if you like wii, you should go to weeworld.com to create a wee me. ha!

Oooo...I love the Wii! Our friends have one and we are dying to get one of our own (sadly, it would just be another excuse to procrastinate on doing my homework...because knitting isn't nearly enough of an excuse).

So glad I found another dog loving knitter! : )

You got a Wiiiiiiiiii! I want one. And I don't like video games all that much.

I am pleased to see Jacob playing with the console correctly, so that it doesn't fly out of his hand. And yes, his Mii looks very much like him

so fun - and you're really gonna' appreciate that fireplace tonight if it gets as cold down there as it's gonna' get here - they're predicting 18 so even if you're 10deg higher it's still darn cold.

that wishlist is a great idea - I might have to give it a shot myself!!

I've been reading for ages and never knew Jacob and I share a birthday. :)

Only one of us got a Wii. :(

Aw, what a cozy night--you, the Pants, Bella, and your Miis. I want to see a photo of them in combat, too!

Tiny animated the Pants! I love it!

i just read an article on the Wi remote (so cool!) but watch out! - i read about how someone broke their TV because it slipped out of their hand during the bowling game!!

And Yes, and where is your Mini Meeee?

dude you are so damn cute.

ooops, hahah, i meant the PS3. wow, i need coffee :)

my hubby's bday is the 29th of november :) how funny. so close. but he wanted a PS2 and i just had no way of getting him one! :( the wii seems like a lot of fun. i'm sure it'll bring lots of enjoyment to your new home :)

Are our two kids related? :) Is Bella on Dogster?

The Wii looks like great fun, but I'm sorry, why are we seeing a Jacob Mii and not the Carrie one? :-)

My husband wants the Wii. We tried to preorder but no luck and on the release date they were gone like hotcakes! Maybe after Christmas I will get him one. Have fun!
