And a Happy New Year
Ah. The holidays are so, so lovely. I've been sleeping until embarrassingly late hours, wearing my (new) pajamas all day, and knitting constantly. One of the perks of a university job is that the university is closed the last week in December, so I've got lots of time off. It's a wonderful thing. Luckily, Jacob works with schools as well, so we're both at home relaxing. It's given us lots of time to put the house in some kind of order and play with our Christmas presents.
Christmas was totally awesome. We got all kinds of great stuff for the house, loads of gift cards (LOWES! HOME DEPOT! BEDBATHANDBEYOND!) and lots of other fun things. I got some great Sephora stuff and the perfect jewelry box. So much good stuff.
The Pants gave me two ultimately awesome presents: this necklace

SchmooTag.
and... a camcorder!

I'm gonna video you.
That one was a bit of a surprise. So. Excited. About. Video. I have a feeling that videos of Bella, Chili, and other adorable thingsin my house may be making a more regular appearance on this here blog. Woo-hoo! I also taped ridiculous amounts of nephew cuteness on Christmas Day -- the child has gotten SO. BIG. I got to feed him a bottle, which was really fun and also kind of scary at the same time.
Here's the BigHeadSchmoo:

I'm the king of this blanket.
The sis finally got her Central Park Hoodie, for keeps:

Finally!
And there was also some intense game playing: both Texas Hold 'Em:

Jacob won. Again.
And Clue DVD:

Wes is a sleuth. He had the time ALL NARROWED DOWN.
Good. Times.
Now? I'm going to sit on my butt some more and surf blogs and knit and not have any responsibilities. We are having folks over for New Year's, so at some point I need to clean a little more, but NOT NOW. Now is for lounging. And building a swift...more on that later.
Hope everyone is having a happyhappy with their family and friends. This is the FOURTH Christmas I've celebrated with my blog, can you believe it? I can't. Time flies when you're having fun. And other cliches.
Happy New Year from our house to yours!!

I wasn't being snoopy but I noticed that someone got a coffee pot for x-mas too. It's only amusing to me because I got a video camera and I got my mom a coffee pot. lol...I just thought that was interesting.

I just love that schmoo tag - so cute!! and a camcorder - why I expect to see you out in the woods at the top of a waterfall doing a "live" version of "The Last Knit"!! My sweetie built me a swift for my birthday (12/28) - SO I tried to wind my first "cake" - I'm apparently not so "swift" at loading the swift - we'll give it another spin tomorrow!!

Hi Carrie! Just had to say I have a mug of the same 'set' like in your camcorder picture. I recognized yours because it has the little picture inside. Which one do you have? I found mine at a little consignment store in Kingsland, GA. It has santa knitting xmas stockings with the phrase "Twas only a week before Christmas there in the woods St. Nick was knitting as fast as he could. For the animals had been so kind that year, St. Nick would give them all stockings full of cheer." How groovy that you have one of the set, too!

I can't decide if the pic of your nephew or the one of you with your jammies and camera is cuter! The SchmooTag is further awesomeness.
Have fun at your New Years gathering!

I've been having a similar pajamas-and-knitting holiday. It's wonderful, isn't it? Keep enjoying!

Carrie, I love your blog. I just started knitting again and just discovered knitting blogs (I know, and no, I don't use a rotary phone). In my blog discovery, I got totally inspired by your Ms Marigold and it became my first sweater. Anyway - love your stuff and Happy New Year!

Lucky you - all that lounging time! What are you building the swift out of?

Wow, you totally had a rockin' Christmas! Your nephew is just too cute -- I would video tape the heck out of him too.
I also have this week off (university employee), but I have to say I can't seem to shake this feeling that I should GET THINGS DONE, and I can't sit on the couch knitting without guilt. I'm going to take your post as a pep talk. I CAN lounge. I WILL lounge.

Your nephew? Adorable.
I LOVE your necklace, the Pants done good.
Looks like you had a great Christmas! Enjoy your time off...I'm totally jealous.
