Things Just Keep Getting Better.
So ... it looks like I am going to be in school this semester.
Hooray! Thanks for all the sympathy and good vibes you sent my way ... it really made me feel better. Luckily, the other program was happy to take me back, and I'm already really excited about my classes this semester. Now, instead of a Master's in Internet Technology, I'll be pursuing a Master's in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Design and Development. This semester is going to involve a lot of studio time, learning software, and being creative. I think I'm gonna like it heeerrrrreeeeee....
Let's see, what else? The laptop I ordered for my first program arrived, and I decided to keep it since I'll still be in school. Thus, I'm blogging in bed. So. Happy.

I checked the battery. It's not one of the exploding ones.
And, Bling is playing tomorrow night (hey Athens and Atlanta folks, this serves as your official notice! Come see us! There's a great Florida band called Velveteen Pink opening for us...it will be fun times. Farm 255.)
Oh. And. The Pants rescued a small puppy from the highway today...and long story short, he's home with us now. There are no plans currently for Puppy to stay with us permanently, but he's going to be here temporarily until we figure out a living situation for him. His name is Puppy because Jacob won't let me name him. Yet.
Puppy wants to give you a big sloppy wet kiss and then bite your finger.

Puppy also wants to play ALL THE TIME with his new best friend, Bella the Giant.

Bella is so HUGE next to Puppy.
Puppy is a schmoo.
There has been knitting, it's just the same old same old : silk tank. You know what that looks like. Knitting has taken a back seat lately to doggy issues and crazy school issues and busybusy work stuff. But it's still there.
Sleepy. Time for bed. Thanks again for all your good vibes...you guys rock!

Hi Carrie,
best of luck in the instructional technology/design program! I graduated from a similar program at San Jose State in CA - 2 years ago now I guess, sheesh, has it been that long??? anyway - I really enjoyed it, so if you want to chat, I'm happy to :)

Um, I think Puppy is soooo going to be living with you. Forever. But Puppy is a good name too.

Just so you know, Carrie, David was so sick in Athens for two years he had to get his tonsils out this past spring! Seriously! He was constantly sick. But the good news is, he hasn't been sick a day since they were taken out. Let me know if you need more info on this subject! Glad you found a new program! :)

I'm so sorry that the program got canceled :-( But I think that the one you are going back to will be just as great and maybe even better. Enjoy it!
P.S. Puppy is so cute. I wish I could take him!

Congrats on getting into your 2nd choice! Everything happens for a reason though, so maybe this should've been your first choice? Hmm..

I am in my final semester of classes for grad school with student teaching and thesis awaiting. I wish you the best in your studies. Also, as a dog-lover, the pup is a keeper!!!

Yeah, um, you'll have that dog until it dies of old age and its little headstone will say, "Here lies the beloved Puppy." Just cuz it doesn't have a normal name doesn't mean it won't stay with you forever. Sorry, Pants, you're fighting a losing battle.

GREAT news on the school situation - I know you were all geared up to get going!! And so fun to be able to blog in bed! Such a cutey-patootey-keep the puppy, name him "PuppyMan"! As the "mom" to 3 labby girls, I'd say keep the puppy if the two schmoos get along. Actually having 2 dogs is not much different from having 1 but they do keep each other company. I'm still not sure about the 3 thing but that's what we got!

Testing, Testing. I hate comment

You gotta keep him...as long as Bella doesn't mind. He could not be cuter.
Good luck with program #2. Glad the cancellation didn't totally screw things up for you.

We were sitting here trying to guess puppy's heritage. I guessed Golden Retreiver/Basset mix and said it outloud. Then my hubby started singing "Looking for love in all the wrong places..."
:o) No matter what kind of love affair he's a product of, he sure is cute!
Posted by Amy Lu | August 21, 2006 12:53 AM
Oh my goodness, Puppy is so cute with the cocked head and sideways tongue hanging out!! Do you think I can sneak him into my no pets allowed apartment??
Posted by Jenna | August 20, 2006 11:38 PM
So glad to hear the school stuff got resolved. That program SUXXX for cancelling so late! Anyway, yay for going to school. :)

That is the cutest puppy I've ever seen. Ever! I have another potential lead on a home if the other doesn't pan out.
Congratulations on school!

Things work out for the best. Maybe this is the program you were meant to be in all along.
Speaking of serendipity, of course you were meant to have that dog.
But you already know this....

puppy is damn cute. and yea! for school! :)
Posted by carolyn | August 19, 2006 11:49 AM
Can't. Resist. Puppy.
Congrats on getting into the other program!!
Posted by Michelle | August 19, 2006 10:44 AM
Rescued a puppy!!! That's a good guy. You should keep him.
I bet you could find Puppy a good home through The Magic of Knitblogging. It doesn't cost much to ship a puppy cross-country with an airline - about $100 plus the cost of the carrier, if memory serves. I don't doubt there's a puppy-less knitter out there who'd jump at the chance!
Posted by Erika | August 19, 2006 10:32 AM
Gotta love a person who'll rescue a puppy . . . and one with such a sweet face, too! Clearly, he needs a good home . . .
Posted by --Deb | August 19, 2006 9:58 AM
Aw, what a cute puppy! I think you should keep him. ;-)
Good luck with school! A Masters in Education will serve you well.

WheW! So glad the school situations resolved itself.
And seriously, I understand why Jacob won't let you name the dog. That pup is seriously cute. Heart attack cute. I think Jacob might be in trouble.
Posted by Cara | August 19, 2006 8:10 AM
OK, yay for the school thing and yada yada, but PUPPY! Puppy puppy puppy! So! Cute!
Have you named him yet? ;)
Posted by Michelle | August 19, 2006 7:46 AM

even i will say it.....SHMOO!
Posted by suzanne | August 19, 2006 7:44 AM
awww. SO CUTE! And props to Jacob for rescuing the lil' guy! If I didn't live across the US, I'd adopt him in a heartbeat. And congrats on the grad school!

I think I just experienced cute overload. the ear flop, the tilted head, the 'baroo?' expression? so glad things are looking up for you - and pupster.
