Swamp Tech
It is so flipping hot. I know it's hot everywhere, so everyone's nodding their heads in agreement. It makes a girl want to hide in her house and knit all weekend long.
I didn't do that, but I was tempted. Instead, I went to Atlanta and saw Quintron and Miss Pussycat at the Drunken Unicorn with Leslie and Anne Marie. It was well worth the drive:

The blur is Mr. Quintron. The car is the front of his instrument, the Drum Buddy.
Quintron invented this crazy instrument called the Drum Buddy and he plays it at his shows - it's an organ-drum-lights-someotherstuff instrument, and it sounds incredible. His wife, Miss Pussycat, always does a puppet show before they start playing. It's seriously not to be missed, people. And after the show, there was breakdancing in the bar area, and it was AWESOME. Anne Marie got invited to dance, and here's the conversation she had with her dance partner:
-----
Dancing Guy: Hey there. Would you three ladies like to come back to my house and party with me?
Anne Marie: No, thank you. Would you like to move on?
(Dancing Guy moves on.)
-----
Isn't Anne Marie polite? Fun times.
The rest of the weekend was supposed to be a wild crazy blur of late night parties, but apparently I'm not as young as I used to be, and it took me all weekend to recover from Friday night. (This may be partially due to late night Taco Bell on Friday. SUCH a good idea at 2:30am, NOT A GOOD IDEA the next day.) So I stayed in. And knitted.
I saw this lovely Razor Cami on Yarnmonster and decided I needed to knit it. (e and my Orangina have been fighting lately and I had to put her down for a little while.) So, the yummy LaLuz Silk scarf is on hold, and I'm working on the yummy La Luz Silk razor cami:

Silky stripey goodness.
I'm not sure how the stripeyness is going to play out in the cami, but I'm excited to see. I'm usually okay with some pooling, etc, so I think I'll like the outcome. And it's so nice and soft and pretty to knit with.
On Sunday, I got pick the Pants up at the airport - he was away all last week on a super grown-up business trip. I was really, really glad to have him home. Especially when he arrived home and started dancing with Bella:

Bella LOVES to slow dance with Jacob.
Aw, my schmoos.
School starts in 14 days. So. Nervous. Thank goodness for the Pants, and my doggies, and my friends, and kniting, and TIVO. These things keep me sane. (ooh! I ordered my first sewing pattern today. Can't wait!)

It's understandable that money can make us independent. But how to act when one does not have cash? The one way is to get the business loans and just credit loan.

I am so jealous! I looooove Quintron. And the assortment of coffe cans with holes in different patterns that make Drum Buddy work. Sigh...I haven't seen him in forever. Or 4 years.

You forgot to mention the HOURS we spent in IKEA and the millions of dollars we saved.
Millions.
I really wish that Quintron wasn't married. He is my ideal man.
And that silk cami is going to be the softest shirt that ever was.

I love the yarn you are using for that tank it is beautiful!! What is it?
I should have the strength to put things down sometimes, but I don't and then I end up with the "Damn" Clapotis or something like that.

I've been lurking for a while and I really enjoy reading your blog. (Plus my boyfriend looks just like yours, and its creepy :) Random question: I've been wanting to make Ms.marigold in Shine, like you did, so did you use worsted or sport, and what size needles? I haven't bought the pattern yet, and it doesn't say the gauge on the site. Thanks!

Oh, the dreaded drunken Taco Bell run has claimed another victim. I hate it when that happens.
I love, love, LOVE the colors of that La Luz, can't wait to see the finished product.
Jacob and Bella? Too adorable. And don't worry about school, you're going to kick ass.
