Busy
Is it Thursday? I've lost track.
School is great. My professors rock, and there are lots of really interesting and different people in my courses. And I get to learn new software programs, and learn about teaching, and be creative and come up with projects. There's a lot of freedom in the two courses I'm taking, and I'm excited. I also got to bring my laptop to class and use the wireless connection in my classroom. Nerding. Out.
I'm also tired, but it's more from a busy work week than from school stuff. It's also the first week of school for the students I advise, so it's busybusybusy on all fronts.
But you probably just want to know if Puppy has a home yet.

I'm so cute!
Puppy is currently being fostered by my friend Jenny. We've had two almost homes for Puppy, and neither worked out. Jenny insists that she is only fostering Puppy and will not be keeping him....

Love me.
We'll see. So, Puppy is still around, and being well-cared for, but he's no longer at my house. I think the Pants realized what was going to happen if Puppy stuck around our place for too long. At any rate, between all of us, Puppy will be fostered until a good permanent home **coughcough Jenny coughcough** is found for him.
Knitting time has been rare lately, although I have a slightly lame progress picture of the silk razor cami:

I swear it's a new picture.
One thing I love about this pattern is that you can easily memorize it, and you can tell where you are by looking at your knitting. It's good for watching TV, or hanging out. (I didn't have the same experience with Orangina, which meant I made a TON of mistakes.)
I have a skirt, with zipper, all ready to go except that it needs to be hemmed, and it's actually pretty cute! I've ordered 3 new sewing patterns recently and as soon as I can get to the fabric store, I'm going to pick some stuff out for those.
And I got new glasses. Because I sat on my old ones and destroyed them. D'oh.

New. Glasses. Time.
And last, but certainly not least, we booked a location for our wedding, and it will be on October 20, 2007. We want some time to save money and plan. YAYAYAYAYAYAY.
I know I've been talking about everything but knitting lately. Perhaps when all these new things become more familiar, I'll be able to fit more knitting. I hope so!

October weddings are fabulous. Our anniversary is October 18, 2003. But what's the appropriate gift for the negative-first anniversary? Isn't that diamonds, again?

Test again.

I'm glad school has turned out so well!! A fall wedding will be beautiful. I got married in June out of necessity but EVERYONE gets married then and some people couldn't come because of other weddings. If I had had my choice, we would have gotten hitched in the fall. It wouldn't have been so hot either! Your wedding will be wonderful!

Congrats on setting the date! Have you found the dress yet? Maybe you could knit Rowan's Ball gown in White? It's out of Kidsilk haze, that will keep you warm!

Oh, so many things of note! 1. I just commented over at AM's blog--I didn't realize the Puppy Jenny was fostering was the same one you'd taken in. Looks like he's found a home (I was totally working on Monkey, though...he was about to cave!). 2) October weddings rock. We married in October and LOVED it. Yay for booking. 3) CUTE new specs and manicure--and you look awesome pre-coffee! and 4)Yay for school being great. Yay!

Puppy is a welcome addition to ANY knitting blog!! Perhaps a little of him has been knit into your razor cami... and that'll make you happy. Happy! XD
Great glasses! What would the picture look like AFTER your coffee?

Yay for setting a wedding date. I got married on October 18 2003 and it was an absolutely beautiful day. The weather in Baltimore can be unpredictable in the winter and summer, but October was PERFECT. 60 degrees, sunny, pretty leaves on trees.....

I'm tired just reading about all your activities! Glad to hear you're enjoying school (I've been lurking for a while...). Yay! For setting a wedding date! We got engaged a year ago today and our wedding is next month - it's nice to have some time to save & plan and not freak out. :-) Have fun!!

Hi Carrie:
I've been reading your blog for a while and really enjoy it, so I thought that I'd comment! Your knitting is looking great (as always) and congrats on setting a wedding date!

Oh, that puppy is a cutie!!!!
Your Razor cami is looking great! I saw a woman wearing one at The Point the other night, and now I am itching to make one myself.

I just can not get over the sheet cuteness of Puppy. We have no pictures of our dog from his puppyhood and I just decided that he looked like Puppy, only white with a brown patch on the butt. Works for me!

I want new glasses really bad. Maybe I'll sit on mine too! Yours are very cute and I think Anne Marie has a future as a manicurist.

Puppy is so cute he doesn't even look real. He looks like a stuffed animal. I want him, but cannot have him. Pet him for me, and I hope he finds a good permanent home soon.
Yay for nerding out at school! Try and get some rest, would ya??
