Picturemania

Gah, I can't believe it's been over a week since I blogged! And it's been a super awesomely busy week with much knitting, visiting, eating, and picture taking. Like, SO MANY PICTURES. I heart my camera.

[Edited to add: it should be noted that the Pants took a good majority of the aquarium pictures and the fireworks pictures. Gots to give the man some credit. And while I'm giving credit, my camera is a Canon Powershot SD550. ]

Fourth of July was great - we went to Jacob's parents' for a wild game cookout, which included the following: pheasant, wild boar, wild turkey, venison, and normal old ribs. It was a delicious meal, indeed. We finished the night with VIP seats at the local fireworks show (Jacob's dad is an assistant fire chief, so we got to be super close to where the fireworks were actually being lit.) Um, they were HUGE! and really loud. And KICK ASS. (My sister and I were actually afraid of fireworks when we were little, and we used to always go see them on holidays and then cry. So I felt like I was achieving a small victory for young scared Carrieoke by being so close to the fireworks.) Here's a picture for ya:

Pretty.
More Fourth of July pics [ here ].

There was also knitting at the fireworks show ... Jacob's cousin Abby worked on a scarf, and I worked on a new (old) project:

Orangina!

I've actually made Orangina before - mine was a Grape Fanta. It's cute - but I've been wanting one that's a little more lightweight. This time I'm using Brown Sheep Cotton Fine, and I love the way it's turning out. The color is darkish brown, and I've decided to name this one after my most favorite drink ever : Unsweet Tea! (I know, I must be a fake Southerner. But really. I like my tea unsweet. It may be because my grandma used to put TWO FULL CUPS of sugar in a pitcher of iced iea.) Anyways, yay for summery lacy tops.

The next day, the Pants and his mom convinced me to take a vacation day so we could go to the Georgia Aquarium. DUDE. It rocked. I'll let you peruse the 100+ pictures we took if you want: [ Aquarium Pics ]. And also, can I please have a penguin, a sea lion and a beluga whale come live with me and be my pets? Because they are CUTE.

And today, I got to see my mom, my sisters and my nephews. I knit Brady a baby onesie a little while back, and I forgot to take decent pictures, so I snapped a few for my gallery while I was over at Michelle's. Then Brady agreed to try it on:

12month.jpg
It's the 12-month size.

I think it will fit him. In the future.

Good times. I must confess that I've also made my first attempt at intarsia (yikes) recently, but I'll have to save those pictures for another time. It's time for me to go to bed and read some of this ...

The word is out so I had to stop by and say....Happy Birthday!

It seems I was impaired when I wrote my previous comment, but not now....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

I forgot to say how cute Brady is in that onesie! Maybe it's a twosie still. ;-) He'll fit someday.

Wow, you did take a lot of Aquarium photos. Those water animals are so cool.

The Jellyfish pics are waaay cool. and I TOTALLY want an Orangina too!! I suppose I should shut my trap and just make one already!!! I've wanted one ever since I saw grape Fanta!

The Georgia Aquarium rocks. We've been 4 times now, since we have annual passes.

What a nice weekend! You always seem to be doing something. I...don't do anything. I mostly like it that way, but I think I'm living vicariously through you (just a little).

OMG! So cute. And rockin' pics of the fireworks. We really need to get out the tripod. I've been LAZY.

OMG-are you knitting Orangina in Truffle? That is the Cotton Fine that I am using. Love, love, love that color.

Um hi, GREAT fireworks pics. Mine always come out all blurry. I'd liek to think it is my camera, but I suspect it may have to do with the drinking that goes on before and during most fireworks shows I've attended.

Nephew=STINKIN' ADORABLE. How do you get all this knitting done so fast, woman? You're amazing. And also? Sweet modeling job you did for Jodi....love the sweater.

I went to the GA Aquarium in the spring and loved it! Gotta love the whale sharks with the random yellow fishies swimming by their big ol' mouths. Happy Schmoo-Day!

BB is such a peaceful sweetie - you can just see him taking in that onesie!! Love your fireworks pics - they do a small-town fireworks show in my town, Munford, but we just stay home and watch them from the driveway across the hayfield. They are SOOoo much bigger when you get close up though - lucky you - such a great family you're marryin' into!!

*as Sharapova*
MAKE EVERY SHOT A POWERSHOT.
*does sexy eye-twitch thing*
mmmm... cameras.
ew... Amelie Mauresmo with her burly, French, mustached, awesome tennis-playingness. hack.
mmm.... Wimbledon

Anoooother Orangina? yummay! Don't forget about armholes!! hehhehee. I personally never have me tea without my milky-poo. British influence maybe? This Chicawgoin heuh would never think dear Carrie too Southern... *snickers* ... as long as the Pants isn't related to you. I'm bad. *spanks self*

The crying chicks at the fireworks are always such sweethearts. Crying is allowed. *exhales*

Bighead Schmoo is going to lurve his onesie! Once he wakes up, that is.

Now that you've got my imagination going... SnB doesn't have any patterns for belugas... hmmmmm.

Pinkey, are you pondering what I'm pondering? Little Mermaid knits! *sigh* The seaweed's always greener in somebody else's lake.

Any day now, I'll find Madame Zephyr and start poking her with a pointy ended pole to coax her into writing a patterns for us. XD

Yes, you can DEFINATELY have a beluga...and then you can knit him/her a onesie.

i really loved the first three gabaldon books, but i got a little bored in the 4th when there stopped being as much time travel... let me know if it comes back in this one!!!

Hooray for growing babies and baby grows.

Yay for Jamie and Claire and Brianna and Roger!

Yay for cute babies in their too-big onesies!

Yay for fireworks pictures! (I have a few that will be going up on my blog soon)

And Yay for the Georgia Aquarium! I think I'll be getting there in November... it's not for sure yet, but fingers crossed! (And of course I'd have to make a trip to Athens to visit some of my fave knitbloggers!)

oh, what an adorable nephew! lucky you. and lucky him in that onesie. please remember to take a picture when he's a bit bigger.

You're not a fake Southerner if you say "unsweet" instead of "unsweetened." :)

Wxcellent firework pictures - fw are hard to do!

And you nephew is such a CUTIE!

You got some amazing pictures of the fireworks and the fishies. I think you might have convinced me to try that series too. I wasn't sure it was for me, but everyone seems to love them!

Love the aquarium photos. Makes me want to knit anemones.

You took you some good pics at the Aquarium. Also, that Brady pic is SO. CUTE.

And am I a huge dork because I am excited that your commenters like Diana Gabaldon? YAY CLAIRE AND JAMIE.

Oh that Brady is a little pumpkin! Your pictures look awesome. Can you tell me the model number?? Thanks.

OMG - Brady is adorable. I totally want to smell his little noggin. I love the way babies smell. Gah. *scratches ovaries* That onsie is adorable.

And Diana Gabaldon - I haven't read all of her books (just the first two) but I really want to get through the series. I just know if I pick one of them up, I'll disappear from the real world for a couple weeks.

Baby Brady loves it--I can tell. He is sleeping extra joyfully under his onesie.

Diana Gabaldon! love it! her books are so full of adventure and strange funny stories that are so wild. Medical/science curiosities. And Claire and Jamie together....so beautiful. I hope Favespouse and I are such a match.

Yay! Gabaldon! I got that for my birthday. Can't wait to start. Baby is too cute.
