Shleepy. Schmoo.

I'm a tired schmoo. Two shows this weekend really wore me out -- although I think I actually got a good leg workout. (Wearing high heeled boots while moving equipment and then dancing around equals very sore thighs, so that means I worked out, right? I thought so. )

The shows were great. I had a blast, I got to try out some new wigs, the crowds were really responsive. (To my wigs and the music.) My lovely sister took some pictures at the Atlanta show, which her husband promptly burned to a cd and which I promptly left at their house TWICE. I will get them this week sometime. Good. Times.

Also good times - the Hourglass is done:

That thing on my stomach is the reflection of Anne Marie taking the picture. Hee.
I have no explanation for why my hair looks so bad.

It's not blocked, and there are still some ends to be woven in, but I totally wore it while watching the Super Bowl last night. It's soft and fits great!

Here's another view:

Love the side shaping and the neckline.

Here, look at the neckline again:

Folded hems are my new best friend.

It's the Hourglass Sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, and I used Paton's Classic Wool. I bought four balls, and I'm pretty sure that I only used three. I would get at least four balls for the small though, just to be safe.

I will definitely knit this pattern again - it's super simple, and the result is so flattering. Next time I'll try a yarn with a little more drape, just to get a different look. But I'm very happy with the finished sweater! Now I just need to give it a bath, block it, and weave in a few ends. YAY.

Now I'm on a mission to finish my Tubey, finish my Lace Leaf Pullover, and start socks for my sockapaloooza sock pal. Although not necessarily in the order.

That's one beautiful sweater!! I just bought a book of sweater patterns and when the sock yarn stash depletes a bit (and I have socks to wear as many are made for others), I starting in on sweaters. Inspiring.

Carrie, just wanted to drop you a line and tell you how much I have enjoyed reading your blog!!
My hubby is currently in Iraq, hence I have a lot of sleepless nights, and through my "knitting surfing" one evening, stumbled across your blog. I am trying to go back through the archives to catch up to present...have to say...LOVE Bella!! I about died when I saw the pic of her...she looks so much like my GRETA(yep...I said GRETA!)did. My Greta, however was shorter, and had feet that turned out like Fred Flintstone's! To use your words...she was THE BEST schmoo ever! Had her for many years, and miss her greatly. Thanks to you and Bella for bringing to mind some great memories....!! Love all of your projects and hope that one day I'll be brave enough to tackle some of them. Thanks for making me smile. You rock!

I could tell that was AM's shadow from the hair! I love the sweater, it looks great. I'm totally making one.

:)

Great sweater! I'm totally diggin' the color.

Fantastic.

Holy comments! You are such a superstar.

The sweater looks awesome! I gotta do one of those. The shape is so great.

LOVE the sweater!!

What an awesome sweater! The neckline is just beautiful and it looks great on you. Someday I'll be brave and try a sweater and in the meantime I'll just come here and drool. LOL!

Carrie, that sweater absolutely rocks! I've been looking for a while for a pattern for such a sweater, so thanks for the tip--off to buy Last Minute Knitted Gifts now! I LOVE the green you made it in. Cutie Bling girl!

You are just too cute - that sweater is fabulous - I'd make one but I think it would be called a "water tower" in my size instead of an hourglass. That turned hem is just too too pretty. And as always your hair just adds to the cuteness.

Cute sweater, and I love the color! That folded hem looks neat, too - I think I'm going to have to try that sometime. Just enough to be a detail, but not enough to be fussy. Cute stuff!

Hi Carrie, I have a new blog. I change them like I change my underwear, every few months or so.
ANYWHOO- I love the sweater! I am being a follower and making it after I finish my Mom's clappy and a Trellis sweater for a baby being born in April. I have Paton's Classic Merino for it, too- in a lovely tomato color. I wish I could pull off the lime! But sadly it makes me look like I have the flu.

I love the hourglass on you, very flattering. I was too scared to use wool because I thought it would be itchy so I bought some cotton blend that hopefully won't be too itchy. Definitely couldn't justify the Noro Cash Iroha for my first attempt.

Fabulous. I love the color on you.

Girl, you are becoming a knitting MACHINE! That sweater looks HOT. nice job, yo! And uh... I don't know what you're talking about with the hair, it looks totally cute! (at least from this angle ;) )

You know I think it's so much beautiful. You will wear it till it falls apart. Great color!!!!

So perfect for you! The color is just right. Sounds like you're about to have a new wardrobe :)

it looks great on you. i'm VERY impressed girl. love the color. smooches to you.

It is COOL. Great job and great colour too. You look fab in it :)

Great sweater! I love the color on you?? Why is Anne Marie taking pictures?? Where is Jacob?

That color looks so good on you! Great job!

The sweater looks great!!! As does your hair! You are to critical of yourself!!!!!

Looks great on ya! (Glad you answered the question about that shadow, which I saw as a weird wrinkle.) And I guess now I have an answer to "what can I make with my 4 skeins of Patons Classic?"

Oooh, that is so pretty - and fits perfectly! I love the color.

You look smashing in the Hourglass Sweater. Did you like working with the Paton's? I'm thinking of using it for Tubey?

Hourglass looks fabulous and that is a really good color for you! Yay!

Love your hourglass! That color is great and I want to make another one too!

So beautiful sweater!! I love that color!! I just start knitting that same sweater last weekend. Beautiful job!!

Much sweater cuteness!

I'll bet Atlanta never knew what hit them...

lovely! you've just inspired me to dig this pattern out again, try and find the perfect yarn and actually knit it this time instead of just imagining it!

What a beautiful sweater and you wear it very well! I think I am the only person on the planet who does not have that book. Now I have to get it, to make the Hourglass sweater. I love the color as well.

that's so funny -- i couldn't figure out what the heck was on your stomach, and here it's anne marie.

LOVE that color. great job!

Lovely! And wigs? Do tell... I've got those on the brain. I'm a belly dancer, and one thing I've always wanted is more hair, but I am way too short on time (i.e., lazy) to do the whole rollers thing before a show. Besides, it always goes flat on me anyway. I've been thinking about getting a nice long, wavy fall, but I'm not sure I could get it secure enough!

Love. It. Love it! Great job!

Looks swish!

great job! it looks so finished already even without the bath. i'm still on my first sleeve.

Ooooh, very fabby. It looks great, so elegant and lovely. The color is wonderful, too.

Love the sweater. Love the color.

Love the neckline, color and fit...

Patons classic is a great wool...very wearable and PS nice hems too ;)

Great job on the hourglass sweater. It really is flattering around the neck line and folded edges are a great technique on this pattern...I may have to look into that.

Your hourglass looks great, and I can't believe it only took 3 balls....I thought I got a bargain, and I spent $60 on my yarn! I'll have to try another one using Paton's.

Love Hourglss, isn't it the best sweater! The color is perfect on you!

Ohmigoshhowcuteareyou??!!

The sweater looks absolutely wonderful!

pretty teamie.

The color is lovely on you. I covet shamelessly!

This would be my next project! I've seen quite some Hourglass sweaters done and most of them have a very wide neckline. I'd definitely try to change that. Yours fits you perfectly!
Funny our choice of projects are so similar ... Tubey, Hourglass, Lace Leaf (which I've finished and is on blocking board now) ... :)

Hi Carrie! De-lurking here to say that your sweater looks amazing on you! Definitely adding this one to my to-do list! And I think your hair looks great too!!!

So, I'm just starting Tubey (thanks to you also!) and was planning on using the Patons Merino to make it, but Julia from Vesper Socks mentioned that it tends to pill.... so I'm really interested to know how your Patons Merino will hold up after a washing or two.... if you think about it, maybe you can either drop me a line or blog about it at a later date.

Congrats again on your UFO!

Gorgeous! And the sweater ain't bad either. :-)

Don't you mean that you wore that sweater while you SLEPT through the first half of the superbowl (go Steelers). I really want to make one now. I love watching to see how your projects turn out and stealing my next project ideas from you.
It looks fabulous!
Glad you stayed in Atl. to chaffeur the Pants home last night!

It looks abslutely wonderful. And the color is great too.
