Checkin' It Twice...
Here's the holiday update: still knitting.
I will show you said knitting in a picture that is deliberately intended to confuse the gift recipient. Mu-ha-ha-ha.

Whew. I'm glad this scarf is almost done. *hee*
I know some of you knitbloggers are totally thinking: I know what she's making! Shhhhh. Don't tell.
I actually got to attend a couple of Christmas parties in the past few days. Fun times. On Saturday, we saw our friends Kim and Jason and Chester. Here I am with Chester:

Chester the Dog. He has a theme song.
I heart Chester so much. He smiles and sneezes constantly, which makes him incredibly adorable at ALL TIMES. I also heart this girl:

Sister schmoo.
In addition to being my sister, she also let me borrow that cute shirt I'm wearing in the picture. Thanks Cathy! The Pants would be pictured, except that he was in another room playing video games on one of Jason's big arcade machines.
So after fun times at Kim and Jason's, we had a knitterly Christmas function at DC Jenny's last night, complete with cocktail sausages, fondue, and plenty of knitting. I gave Anne Marie her Christmas present again (it's a printed book of her blog***) and this time I actually wrapped it instead of freaking out and throwing it at her completely out of the blue and unwrapped. She reenacted her original opening for a photo op:

Wow, she is so genuinely surprised!
Good times. I love that my friends are always up for a good reenactment.
So, Christmas is, um, FIVE DAYS AWAY. I have some knitting to do, so clearly I should stop blogging and work on that. I'm taking the rest of the week off to finish gifts, relax, and go get my dad for Christmas festivities. I hope everyone is having a merry merry week!
***For those interested, I used lulu.com for the printing, and it's actually *pretty* straightforward. There's a little formatting work involved (and if your blog is like five years old it might take a little while) but once that part is done, it's fairly easy. Thanks to Casey for suggesting Lulu and initial help! and also the idea!

I LOVE MY BOOK.
I keep reading it. It's the best scrap book ever. And the super secret project is coming along quite nicely. I can't wait until it's revealed. Muhhuhaha.
Oh yeah, and I LOVE MY BOOK!

What a GREAT Christmas gift idea! (And the printed, bound blog-in-a-book was pretty nifty, too.)

I have no idea what you're knitting, but its always gorgeous and I'm sure the giftee will love it.
The hardcopy of Anne Marie's blog is an amazing idea! My blog entries are nothing amazing, but I've always thought they capture the "day to day" in a way my kids would enjoy some day. But I'm such a goof with technology. I'd be interested to read more about the "a little formatting work involved" that you refer to. Or maybe I'd just get my husband to do it for me. :-)

Looks like you're having a great Christmas-to-be - all that rushing up to the holiday stuff - what fun to have someone's blog "published". Thanks so much for letting me share in your knitting world - being a new knitter (still less than a year) and having found the many, many knitting blogs out there has made 2005 a great year - yours is still my favorite, probably somethin' about that Southern flavor. Have a great time with your family and looking forward to 2006 - hmm - maybe I'll even start actually bloggin! Robin
