To-Do List
I keep thinking of things I want to blog about and then I forget. So, today I will post my bloggy to-do list.
1. Celebrate, because High Energy Jenny is back! Holla. That's an energy boost right there.
2. Thank Glampyre Stef for the Dye-Your-Own-One-Skein-Wonder package she sent me! How fun is that! I got this on Friday right after I got home from work, and I totally jumped right in. She included enough yummy white dyeable yarn for a One Skein Wonder, and a bunch of Kool-Aid packets! I tried to take enough pictures for a photo essay on Kool-Aid dyeing but that didn't really happen. Here are the highlights:

Before dyeing.

During dyeing. The Kool Aid smell is overwhelming at this point. Me likey.

After dyeing. Still smells like Kool-Aid.
This was really fun. I can't wait to see how it knits up. I'll probably work on it this week!
3. Show my Jaywalker-in-progress. Confess that I am really terrible at sock patterns that involve more than knitting a stockinette tube. (I tried to knit Conwy, from Knitting on the Road, and I couldn't get it. ??? So I did this pattern, and it's really straightforward, but I still made lots of mistakes. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME.)

Almost done with Sock One.
4. Show action shots from the Halloween concert. (Try not to cringe at my booty in a white skirt.)

In heaven, all the angels got spinners...
The rest of the pictures can be seen here. I will not apologize for my outfit or any other behaviors seen in these photos. It was totally Halloween and I'll say it was my twin sister if anyone gives me hell. It could be Cathy, after all....
In other band news, my sister and I are getting to fulfill a lifelong dream this weekend. This dream started back when we were 8 years old and recording ourselves on our Barbie tape recorders (Ya know, when you would pretend you were radio DJS? Hell yeah. We would announce songs, and then I would play them on the piano and we would sing them. One shining example was "I Just Called to Say I Love You" -- that was a GREAT performance.)
Anyways - the dream is that one day, we would totally be rock out together on stage. And it's happening this weekend, at the Star Bar in Atlanta. My band, Bling the Children Back Home, is opening for Cathy's band, The Hill Valley Preservation Society this Saturday. WONDER TWIN POWERS ACTIVATE.
6. Just sat and pondered running for 15 minutes. Decided to go.

Carrie, I'm so bummed! I've been reading your blog for months now and had no clue you were so close to the ATL. Yes, I'm clueless. I love the Star Bar and would love to see your band--please let us all know when you'll be back in the ATL.

What time will y'all play at the Star Bar? We're supposed to go to a party on Saturday, but I'm hoping we can catch your show either before or after. And hopefully next time you do a gig in the ATL you and your groupies can stay with us in our new house! :)

How much fun is that? A dye your own OSW... I think you should call it the lime... (what the hell flavor is blue cool aid? raspberry?).. anyway - call it the lime-flavorX-wonder. I'll bet it looks great knitting up.
And I can't see all these mistakes you're talking about in your socks - they look great to me. The yarn colors are very cool.
And I hope you and your sis have a blast singing together this weekend! How funny it would be to watch the audience try to figure out if it's the same person from the 1st band who's now singing with the second... Have fun!!

You are so hot in your costume rocking out. But that lion, kinda creepy. I mean, the costume, I'm sure the guy is just great. Yeah.

The dye job you did is gorgeous! Love love love it. Will you teach me sometime? Congrats on the show with your sis--y'all should totally do a Stevie Wonder duet onstage.

Oh, the pictures are SO cute, but I'm completely drooling over the home dyed yarn. I have a bit of white roving around that I'm spinning up, and I bunch of packets of kool aid, but I'm a bit hesitent about starting. What tutorial do you like for kool-aid dying?

Soooo funny about playing radio station....my sister and I used to do that too. Only we were not musically inclined and would play songs off the radio. We had quite a complex set up.
I dig the Naughty Dorothy thing. You crack me up.
Do you think if you wear something you knit out of Kool Aid dyed yarn in the rain and you wring it out, you would have Kool Aid? I'm just sayin'. I've always wanted to try the Kool Aid dyeing thing, and that question has always plagued me.
Break a leg this weekend, supastaaaaaa!

Carrie, cute pictures.
I was going to email you but can't find your address on your page, so this doesn't fit the post, but I have to tell you... Last night my husband and I watched Final Cut (with Robin Williams, very good), and Jim Caviezel is in the movie, and he looks just like The Pants! Every scene he was in, I thought "hey, that's Jacob!" :-)
