Standing TALL, on the wings of my dreams...
I ran 10 miles on Saturday. It was alternately really fun and really, really hard. I went with my sister who is a cross country coach and insane running girl, but she didn't push me TOO hard. We ran at Stone Mountain, and the trail is a lovely 5 miles, and I didn't even mind doing it twice. There was one slow, long hill -- it was a killer -- but other than that, the run was really great. Here's what me and Cat look like right after running 10 miles :

We just devoured a power bar.
So what's a girl to do after running ten miles? Oh, I know - put on some high heeled boots and jump around on a stage with her band for an hour. That's good for the legs. Har.
The show this weekend was really tiring but really, really fun. Good crowd - lots of energy - only one minor Janet Jackson moment when my stick-on bra (read: fake. boobies.) fell off during the last song. DUDE. It was almost catastrophic, but luckily I caught the thing with my hand and gracefully put my arm over my chest for the rest of the song. Everyone said they didn't notice, even Jacob - apparently he was so oblivious to it that he didn't realize he'd gotten the entire moment on camera.

um, hi. look at my face.
Note to self: no stick-on bra when jumping around is involved.
But, the crisis was averted, our set went great, and then my sister's band got on stage and totally brought the house down. (The crowd was SO. EXCITED. I mean, where else can you hear the Perfect Strangers theme played LIVE? or He-Man?! I know you think that you don't know the He-Man theme song, but once it kicks, you totally know it. I HAVE THE POWER!!!) It was a late night, but totally worth it, especially since it was HVPS's last show.

That's my sister on the left, and her husband on the right. Aren't they rock stars?
Good times. Here are a few more pictures if you'd like to see: [click for photo set].
In between the running and the blinging, I ripped out the ribbing on my Kool-Aid OSW and re-knit with size 8 needles. I don't really see a difference. Oh, well. But I think once it's finished and blocked, it will fit great.
MUST FINISH SOCK ONE. I must.

Love this story and the photo totally cracked me up! And even though the stick up bra gave in to gravity, we love the photo of you on stage. Hee hee!

Maybe you should stuff your bra old school...with socks, then you could pin then in...or maybe you should forget the stuffing, you have a fabulous rack anyhow.
Congratulations on the run!!! Stone mountain is awesome. And beautiful. Next time, let's go for the laser show.
You are totally a "runner".

I had a similar experience once with a product known as 'Braza' (?). Fancy name for stickers that were supposed to act as a bra... or not. Too bad it was at a beautiful wedding... where I was one of the bridesmaids... sheesh.

Well...at least it happened at the END of the set.

Ooooh! I love Stone Mountain! And CONGRATS on the 10 miles! I got shin splints last week and my legs are still a little sore. I think I need new shoes. Ugh.
That pic of "the bra incident" is priceless. I'm glad that those of us who weren't there are able to relive that special moment with you.

What on earth is, and where does one buy, a stick-on bra?

You just look like you're emoting, not like you misplaced a breast. But oh my.
And thanks for the reminder about the Stone Mtn trail. I'm gonna be at my mama's in Lilburn for T'giving and I may need a little jog. And congrats on the 10 miles!

I am laughing hysterically at the fake boob malfunction photo. The captions totally make it.
I don't remember the He-Man song, but do they do the Silver Spoons theme?

You two are the coolest EVER! Looks like so much fun! I think I would love to hear the He-Man theme. I can't even imagine how that would work live, but it has to be fab! Rock on!

I LOVE the band photo - an album cover if I've ever seen one! Did Jacob take it?
You and your sister are too cool for school! ;-)

Uhm, some of us TOTALLY know the He-Man song!
"I'm Adam, Prince of Eternia"....
All I know is that I totally put up my RAWK*FIST to "Saved By The Bell". There is NOTHING cooler than that!

Dude, I'm a total tool for not coming to see your show(s). Please don't hate me. The body, she is old, and the face, she snores at an early hour. I miss you. AND I LIVE IN THE SAME TOWN, um, hello, what's wrong with this picture? We must must must get together soon. xoxo MJ
