Run. Knit. Repeat.

[Argh. I hate it when I write a long entry and then I accidentally close my browser window. GAH.]

Here's a recaplet (That word makes me giggle) of the first part:

I ran SIX MILES on Monday. YAY ME. Shin splints still there, but getting better. New interval watch beeps when it's time to walk break. Fun times. I can DO it. GO TEAM SCHMOO.

I finished Cutaway. I don't have modeling pics yet, but I do have blocking pics. I will show them to you now:

Isn't she lovely?

I'm really, really excited about this sweater. I'm searching for the perfect button and I'll model it for you soon. And also wear it to work soon, even if it's not cold. So there.

Since I finished the Cutaway, I've picked up another project that has been on the needles for a while. I need to finish because I love Jacob and he wants his socks, but also because I really need these DPNs for another project. Here they are:

I'm *THIS* close to finishing.
Modeled by the loverly MJ.

Before you say it, I know that the finished one looks a little wider. I'm going to assume that the finished one stretched since it was completed months ago. Yep, that's what I'm going with.

Once I finish those, I have a pair to make for a lovely recipient who shall remain nameless. And luckily, I went through a crazy-sock-yarn-buying frenzy pretty recently, so I have some lovely sock yarn to choose from. I also have some absolutely gorgeous Kidsilk Spray (it's Kidsilk Haze, but it's variegated...wait until you see how freakin' awesome this yarn is) from a schmoo I know and I'm trying to decide what to knit with it. Oh, the choices. As much as I loved knitting Cutaway, it's fun to get big things finished and move on to the next project. (Notice I'm totally avoiding the fact that I haven't finished my Clappy yet. Ooh, ooh, and I still have a Kiri shawl on the needles. I'll get to it! Soon.)

But for now, I must finish the socks for the Pants.

Love the Cutaway, Carrie! Model shot!

You should join my Socktoberfest--everyone is doing it! (drop me a line if you want to) The socks look great :)

The Cutaway is beautiful!!

Yep, Cutaway *is* lovely. And lots of sock-yarn choices is the BEST. :)

Go team schmoo! GOGOGO!

Is the cutaway sweater Rhinebeck gear? :)

So cute- can't wait to see it on you!

I am starting to get really excited to see you guys!! YAAAAY!

(Left you a voicemail that Maya can't come after all- boohoo.)

The completion of your cutaway further inspires me to finish mine. I'm sure it will look great on you! I'm planning to wear mine with fun, colorful tops underneath, are you thinking the same?

I can't wait to see the cutaway in person! Those socks look about the same size to me. Besides doesn't everyone have one foot that's slightly bigger than the other?

You are just so DA--ED accomplished!! How do you do it - I too am interested in where you got your watch - NOT that I'm gonna' run 6 miles - but I have been wanting to start a very gentle running thang and it would be nice to have someTHING beep at me for intervals. Your knitting is lovely - can't wait to see the modeled pics.

Robin

Oh, I can't WAIT to see your completed Cutaway. You picked a great color for it, too. Classic and timeless. Find that button fast, Miss C! :-)

Cutaway looks awesome. Looking forward to seeing the modeled shot. Might have to add that one to my list.

Outstanding job.

I'm so loving the cutaway...

Congrats on the running! Keep it up Team Schmoo!

I'm so obsessed with socks...so cool.

Oh cutaway looks awesome! We need some modeling shots.

Hi Carrie
This is the first time i write a comment to you, bur i read you at least six months ago. I'm from Spain, and i really enjoy a lot with you, singing, making no sense with your friends, your knitting projects, ....

I really like the cutaway, it looks so fabulous , where did you obtain this pattern? i want it, i need a cutaway, je je je
Congratulations on running, if i think of it i get tired.

Cutaway looks awesome! Just a perfect everyday cardi. Can't wait to see it on you, hot girl! And keep kicking ass with the running :)

I love the Cutaway! I can't wait to see it on you. I just ordered the yarn for mine today!

Love the sweater, love the gray, can't wait to see what button you pick. Thats the fun part...making it unique! ;-)

Cutaway is awesome - can't wait to see it modeled. Which watch did you buy? I'm in the market for a new running watch, and one that beeps for intervals is right up my alley.

The Cutaway looks faboo. Please remind me of the yarn you used. I love the pattern, but I'm a little worried about the boredom factor of that much stockinette...

you should get a team schmoo t-shirt. preferably with those velvety iron-on letters. in the meantime, good work.

cutaway looks gorgeous.

Your Cutaway looks great! The thought of running 6 miles makes me want to go take a nap.

Gotta question about the socks...since you're knitting them top down, how do you know you'll have enough yarn to finish both socks? I've just started making socks and I've been afraid to go top down because I don't want to get one totally done and then not be able to finish toes on the other. I've been having problems with provisional cast-on though, so top down looks better and better every time I try.

Beautiful work! Love love love the cutaway. Congrats on the six miles!

Congratulations on the running! Congratulations on the sweater! Congrats (half project = half word) on the socks!

I'm not so sure about the wisdom in naming a yarn Kidsilk Spray. It sounds to me like the name of a fungicide you use on goats.

looks great - looking forward to the modelling shots!

I love the word recaplet! I'm going to see how many times I can work it into conversation today.

great job! would you mind sharing what program or tactic you are using for your running? i've been trying for ages to run more than three miles.

Cutaway, Cutaway, Oooooh-la-la! I can't wait to seem the lucky button you choose and you wearing it. A project never seems quite finished in my mind until I see an actual picture of it being sported. And Jacob's socks look lovely, I wouldn't have even noticed the size difference...

Cutaway looks fab! Ahh, the search for the perfect button. There are so many cool buttons out there that I am always ovewhelmed. Can't wait to see what you find! And six miles?! You go girl! That's awesome!

Do you call your significant other "The Pants"? I think I picked up on that earlier.. My husband randomly interjects the word pants into almost every conversation, and so I found that title rather amusing! And I love the cutaway. I think I might want one, with sleeves like yours..even :)

It looks great! And the socks too . Are you following a particular running plan?

Your Cutaway is fabulous!! Congrats on all the running, too, especially with (or, in spite of, rather) all the pain. :P I've been reading and lurking around your blog for a while now, and figured it was about time I say hi and tell you how much I enjoy your upbeat energy. (Which I do!) Great socks, too- and I really didn't notice any difference between the two. ;)

You ran six miles, completed a beautiful sweater AND are almost finished a pair of yummy looking socks?? I am horribly envious on all accounts! (Carrie, fulfilling not one but THREE of my goals, IN ONE WEEK!)

I have to come out of lurkdom to say Cutaway is gorgeous. So soft & comfy looking, she doesn't need a button. (Almost, of course; clearly a work sweater needs a button.)

SEE?!?! I knew the cutaway would be beautiful! This is how much I love your knitting: You take a pattern I don't really care for (cutaway - I know, I'm horrible!) and turn it into something I'm about to dye to knit!!!

I'm interested in this Kidsilk...
