Progress.

Thanks for all the nice comments about my break-in. In order to show the robbers that they can't bring me down, I've already re-knitted the entire piece that got stolen ... and then I kept on going and finished the ribbing on both front sides of my Cutaway.

Lovely curvy fronts.
Click for a close up.

I was nervous about the front of this sweater looking like crapola, because I'm not always the best at picking up stitches in an even fashion. This time I forged ahead and it turned out great!

Doesn't it match my black top and hot pink skirt? Har.

I'm very pleased with my shaped ribbing. Yay me. Sleeve #1 is about 1/3 done, so there's a possibility of a finished Cutaway this weekend. Now if it would just cool down...

Speaking of cooling down, Bella got a haircut this week. Her fur was getting out of hand and Jacob decided to give her a new shaved look -- she looks like a puppy! SCHMOO.

Hello, I'm trying to sleep here.

You probably can't tell a difference, but she's like a new little schmoo to me. He left her face scruff, and I'm glad.. as Karen commented, "it's like a sweet halo of schmooness all around her." Totally.

Trapeze class and knitting tonight! Woot. I ran four miles on Sunday (!!!!) and the mileage is only going up from here, so trapeze class is really some good strength training and stretching. I just wish the bruises on the backs of my knees would go away. And also ,I wish I was a little better at it. In time. I will be.

And finally, in other bizarre news, I'm singing back up with a band this weekend in Athens. The band is ... dare I say... hip hop? The name of the band is Bling the Children Back Home. Yes, you read that correctly. More on that later, maybe.

YEAH! You sure those ratty robbers. And I bet the knit was better the second time 'round :-)

I am SO sorry to hear about somebody stealing your sweater. Really, whoever did it should rot!!! I found your blog last night on the net while bored at work and just wanted to let you know that I love it. Also, www.knitpicks.com has some great yarn (made out of alpaca), books, needles, etc. for a very reasonable price. I have ordered TONS from them and love it. Just thought I'd pass it along. Keep up the good work!!! Everything looks great!!

love the new turquoise. and love the cutaway. you are a master. :)

Ooh, I like the blue layout. Very nice.

Love the cutaway - show those thugs!!! I was home yesterday and got to see Diddy (formerly P.Diddy) on Mah'tha's new show and she had a bling belt buckle that said M-Diddy which was one of her nicknames when she was in the joint!! I guess that makes you C-Diddy - get that hip/hop on girl and BLOGedy-blog away!! Can't wait to hear!! Can't you attach a sound file or somethin' so we can all be-jammin' witch-ya??!!

Also - love Bella's hair cut - she's a cutie - Molly and Sadie bein' labby-gurls don't require cuts - just baths!

Ooo girl, you are a true fashionista with the whole cutaway/hot pink skirt look goin'! Seriously - cutaway looks great. Take that you knitting theives. Hmph.

I can't wait to hear what the hell kind of music the Bling band plays!!

Lovely work on your Cutaway! I'm working on the Fiery Bolero from IK Spring 2005 and am the least excited about picking up all of those stitches for a ribbed edging. I will try and be brave like you! And great job with the running! Maybe one day I'll be able to say "I ran 4 miles!"

Clearly I should proof my comments a bit better - sorry!

Beautiful sweater! And how quick you are to rw-knit that front piece! go girl!

LOVE the blue for the backgroung - very calming and peaceful!

Your dog looks adorable with her hair cut like that. At first glance I thought she had on a wig for a joke, lol.

best band name ever. so awesome!

When I saw the pic of your sweater, I was going to ask how picking up the stitches went - my cast on edge is kinda sloppy and I was hoping it would cover it. Well, thanks for answering my question. It's a great lookin' sweater!

Yays all around! The cutaway looks fab, both on and off, and Bella is a super schmoo (my parents' schmoo, who we actually have called Pepe Schmoo for nearly 12 years now!) loves it when he gets the springtime shave. He runs around all free and unfettered, just like a young pup all over again. =)

I had to read the band name twice. Hilarious! I know you will totally rock the house.

Carrie, I truly believe if you were to blog about singin' and blingin' it would break me out of my funk. I'd be in a different kind of funk....the kind of funk where I get on down with my bad self, yo. Please....make sure pictures are taken. PLEASE.

bling it carrie, blinging it, yeah blinging it...
jw wanna be

Hi Carrie. I don't think I've ever posted here before but I read your blog all the time. I just had to say that the fact that your knitting was stolen blew my mind. Once, my car got broken into and all the person took was an old ratty jacket and a bobblehead doll with the arms broken off that I had gotten at a basketball game. Weird. My dogs just got haircuts, too. No one believes that they're the same animals. Anyhow, just wanted to drop a line. Great job re-knitting the sweater, too.

Aww...Bella looks like a little lamb! I can't wait to see her in person.

And Bling it On! I'll be there Saturday night, I can't wait...It's gettin' hot in here...In heaven all the angels have spinners....

Love the cutaway! Glad you stuck it to those robbers with your knitterly ways. And I would say Bling the Children Home will probably be a must-blog experience. Must. Blog.

The cutaway is looking great--that'll show those robbers! And Bella looks particularly cute--and you know how risky those haircuts can be. (I trim Chappy myself when it's necessary, and so never have anybody but myself to blame when the haircut is less than perfect.) And . . . that IS an interesting name for a band! Look forward to hearing more about THAT!

That sucks about the break in :(
I love the sweater! :)

You know, I wasn't sure about that Cutaway pattern when I first saw it, but seeing your version is making me think about knitting it. I always seem to keep the bottom of my cardigans unbuttoned anyways, so I may as well have a cardigan that doesn't button at the bottom anyways.

p.s. I was really sorry to hear about the car break-in. Something like that can really shake you up, so I'm glad you seem to be bouncing back well.

Way to show those stinkin' theives. Four miles rocks!! I'm just getting to three but need CPR after.
Have fun this weekend... with a band title like that you need to wear some *bling* during the show.

Oh wow! Bella looks like a punk rocker! hehe too cute!

The cutaway looks beautiful- you are a super speed knitter!

I'm unable to comment on cutaways or schmoos at the moment...Bling the Children Home? You cannot pass on blogging about that. No way, my dear. No way!

Singin with da Bling? Awesome. Get someone to take pics!! We must see you!

Bella schmoo looks nice and cool with her new 'do.

Way to not let those dirty stinkin thieves win! Love the cutaway so far!

I'm loving that cutaway sweater. It is going to look great!

You're cutaway looks GREAT! The picked up stitches look wonderfully pro.

I don't remember if I commented about the break-in or not - but OH MY GOD that SUCKS! Glad you're taking it in stride and saying FU to those thieving thieves by keeping right on keeping on.

Have fun singing - I totally see the hip hop in you!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahaahhaahahahahahahahahaha!

Bella. Hahaha! Scha-moo.

Your cutaway really looks so pro-styling. Very good job on the ribbing. Yes, you rock. It's true.

What's wrong with hip hop? =)

Your cutaway looks great! Is that the same yarn you used for that Phildar sweater?

Bling the Children...funny! I'm sure you'll end up being the star, just like your a star for showing those robbers a thang or two. Now, more glasses shopping (I love glasses shopping--I got glasses and didn't even need them...).

Girl, you are going to have so much fun with The Bling. What are you going to sing???
