Two by Two
It has been kind of a stressful week over here in Carrieoke land, which means that I turn to my trusty stress-relief combo: Tuesday night TV, knitting, and wine. It never fails, and last night was a much needed break. And look what happened! my Grape Fanta multiplied :

I'm almost done with the front and back of the purple wonder. I know I keep repeating myself, but this pattern is fun times. The lace part is easy to memorize, and it starts going pretty quickly after a glass of wine. Har. I am so excited about finishing this! I'm hoping the weather at MSW will be nice to me and perfect for wearing some Grape Fanta. Next weekend! Next weekend! YAY!!!
Today was a little chillier than usual in the morning, so I grabbed the opportunity to wear the Brown Beauty to work. Now, my track record for actually wearing my knits isn't great, so I feel like this a photo-worthy occasion.

One day, when I've got a whole closetful of knits like some people I know, I'll wear my knits all the time. (And then I probably won't take a picture every time it happens.) The wide collar on this sweater is giving me kind of a Flashdance look with the shirt underneath. But it's cool to rock the Flashdance look at work, right?? I thought so.
I found an Orangina knit-along on craftster.org, and that led to me the cutest finished Orangina - check this out. I think this is a fabulous FO. I hope my Grape Fanta looks this good!
I'm off to worky work work.
**ooh! I almost forgot! did anyone see the Nashville Star finale? I was so happy! My friends might have been laughing at me, and there were some cheesy parts, but I so love this show. American Idol is on its last leg, seriously. The performances last night were atrocious....***

Pretty, pretty lace! Hope the weather will behave. It seems like A LOT of people are meeting up for MDSW. Take lots of pictures for us on the West Coast!

Grape Fanta looks fabby-loso!! I hope you can wear it at the fest. (And jic, bring a raincoat... it only takes ONE out of town visitor to forget their raincoat, and there will be rain for sure.)

I still feel proud and like I should take a photo when I wear things I've knitted! Except I do have a few things I wear a LOT and they don't count. I love that brown sweater - it's gorgeous!

I totally understand the excitement about actually wearing something you knit. I busted out the mini-sweater yesterday after a long time spent in the bottom of my drawer...

YAY for Nashville Star! I have given up on Amerian Idol....I think it is awful this season. Really, REALLY bad. Nashville Star was a lot better, seems like the talent was a better quality.
Your Grape Fanta is so pretty! That color is going to look amazing on you.

Ooh, Nashville Star was just terrific last night! I was so happy - Jason was so boooring (though I actually liked him last night!) and Jody was fun but not terribly versatile. I am FUMING about tonight's AI - not because of who went (hate him!) but because of who stayed (stupid girlfriend beater that can't SING.)(Hate him more.)
Fanta and Beauty both look terrific! You should definitely wear your work more - you deserve to be a big ol'showoff!

Love your lacey fanta grape - my kids like to drink that (not your fanta grape, I mean the drink :). I love seeing photos of people actually wearing their knits. I always wonder what happens to them after they turn into FOs. When I knit for my daughter the real test is whether she will actually love it enough to wear it more than once! Your Brown Beauty looks good with the T, kind of sporty. So many ways to wear this one, what fun.

Carrie, your brown beauty looks great! I don't have the best track record for wearing finished knits either, but I'm trying to turn that around. I'll be sure to post some pictures if I actually do. Can't wait to see your finished Orangina!

That cami is looking sooo good! You are wearing me down, I think I need to use all that darn green yarn to make Orangina. We'll have to brainstorm a good green name. :)

Hi Carrie! Thanks for the mention! I can't believe that Fanta actually gets easier for you after a glass of wine! I couldn't do it (but then again I was knitting my Orangina in black...yikes!)
Yours looks fabulous. I think I'm going to do another in a bright color. Some great cotton goes on sale tomorrow at Elann!

Fanta's looking great, I didn't realize how it was contructed till I checked out the link. Pretty interesting! I saw almost all of Nashville Star last night. I really wanted the guy in the hat to win, but she was really good too. Before it I saw American Idol for the first time this season and even the first kicked off Nashville star was better than most of them. Especially the chick who tried to sing a country song. Um, no. But I'm a country chick so maybe I'm biased :)

I'm so excited about MDSW that I checked weather.com this morning for the 10 day forecast - Friday's supposed to be upper 60s. Perfect for a spring sweater - not too hot and not too cold!
AI did pretty much suck last night, but I thought the week before was outstanding. I think the song choices were very bad this week - I don't like the "themes" they've chosen this year.
