Monday
Wow. It's Monday. And today is an especially Monday-like Monday, complete with early morning emails from angry people (work) and cold temperatures. Grr. Grrump.
So, let's instead focus on the weekend and how fun it was! Yay. Jacob and I attended an outdoor wedding on Saturday (he also took some pictures too.) It was a little chilly, but the weather held out nicely for the ceremony and the reception (which was a local bar). Here's my photographer-schmoo in his natural habitat:

He's doing that hand thing for show. Isn't he cute?
The ceremony was definitely the shortest wedding ceremony I've ever attended. It was like this: do you? yes. do you? yes. great, let's go to the reception. the end. I loved it! It reaffirmed my current thoughts about how nice a super simple wedding would be. or a Vegas wedding in an Elvis chapel. (Note: I'm not planning a wedding. I am not engaged. And don't bug Jacob about it, poor guy. We're doing fine, thanks.)
Here's some pics from the reception:

We are happy. And a litle drunk. Isn't the light nice in there?

I heart cosmopolitans.
And just in case you thought I wasn't going to talk about knitting at all in this post:

Grape Fanta in action!
I didn't actually knit during the wedding, but we had to get there early so Photo Jacob could set up, so I brought the knitting, just in case. You can see that it came in handy. I have completely finished one side of Purple Nehi, and I'm 1/3 of the way through the other side. And no, I don't know what to call it. I'm still loving the pattern, and I was able to watch the second episode of Revelations, (the miniseries), two awesome episodes of the Contender, and possibly the worst movie ever made that I couldn't stop watching: The Girl Next Door with Elisha Cuthbert. Oh, Lordy, was that bad. But we watched the WHOLE THING. Anyways, I knitted on this pretty lace shirt the whole time, and it wasn't hard at all! I love this pattern.
On Saturday, I also knitted through several episodes of the Nashville Star marathon...dude, these people are SO MUCH better than the American Idol folks. I might have to watch the finale on Tuesday.
In stash news, I received a generous care package from Betsy, which included treats for me, Jacob, and the schmoos! I got some lovely cashmere yarn and sock yarn and adorable stitch markers, Jacob got some great sock yarn (Betsy, he is so excited because now I REALLY have to make him some socks) and the doggies got some yummy biscuits!!! Thanks so much to Betsy for brightening my Saturday with her sweet package.
Okay. Gotta go work to please people who can't be pleased. Send me good worker bee vibes. And dark chocolate.

You two look wonderful in the pics :) I cannot recommend a simple wedding enough, hubby and I eloped to Hawaii almost 14 years ago and it was the best decision for us. Low fuss, had everything I wanted; pretty antique dress, bouquet, a simple cake. Just he and I, on a lovely beach. Went for a super extravagant dinner afterwards, stayed in a fancy smanzy condo (you could spit into the ocean from either of the two lanai's we had, I mean.. if you wanted to.. ;) Came home and one week later threw a party for friends and family at a local hotel. Perfect for us who do not like being center of attention yet had the opportunity to party it up and celebrate with those we love. Anyway, just saying, sometimes simple is wonderful :)

Look at Jacob. He is such a professional. You two are such cuties!

I agree, Nashville Star has more talent then American Idol. I don't really watch either, but the bits and pieces I've caught, Nashville Star kicks American Idol every time.

you are dead on about Nashville Star! It kicks AI's ass. I assume you saw Brett debut his "country style." I could have done w/o that I think. Most of the contestants write better songs than the one he did! It was so Jon Bon, no?
I can't wait to see your finished Grape! I just got into lace and am not looking back :)

PS Not only do they not want to sllep with them...they wouldn't want to sleep with them either.

Fanta and Nehi...kewl names! Jacob looks all professional. Everybody there was probably like, "wow look at the professionalism of the photographer...must be difficult with his girlfriend all boozin' it up". Sounds like a cool wedding. If I ever get married (again) I would totally go the simple and quick route :)
PS You have to get married before I turn 40 because after that age I refuse to be a bridesmaid on the grounds that nobody wants to sllep with a drunk 40 year-old bridesmaid...I will be a bridesmaid, right? RIGHT!?

Sounds like we had a similar monday. "Case of the Mondays" If you haven't seen Office Space...then run out and get it!
Your wedding attire is lovely...may I inquire as to if that is a wrap or a bolero sweater? Very cute. With the pearls? Very Belle.
oooh..that drink makes me want a lemon drop martini! mmmm!
Take care Carrie & Schmoos!

The super-simple wedding is so the way to go. I debated it for 2 years and then decided to just go for it (weddings should *so* be about the couple before it's about about the family and what anybody else thinks you should do). You and Jacob look so great together. And nice pashmina by the way!

He's so cute doing the pose. I went to a super fast wedding like that too, I think it's really suited to outdoor weddings, at that one we were all sweating and glad to get inside in the AC. Nashville Star is awesome! Who are you rooting for? Mmm, you're reminding me of my Aunt Vicki's Peach Nehi floats...yummmy!

I so totally want a Vegas-Elvis wedding. Got no plans, nope, not me. But...yeah. That's the way to do it.

I like that Revelations miniseries. It's good to knit to.
That looks like a nice wedding and I heart cosmos too! They go down like wudder (the way south jersey people say water.)

Don't your fellow-working-folk know that it's hard enough coming back to work on Mondays without them piling on the negative energy? Be a bubble-girl and just deflect all that ickyness. Rejoice in memories of your very fun weekend!

Is that an L lens I see? That's prime time!
Our wedding ceremony took 2 minutes and 37 seconds. Literally. It was just us and Taffy, our justice of the peace. Best two minutes of my life. And we took eleven years to do it! Great relationships grow at their own pace.
Fanta. Mmmmmmm.

Beautiful reception site! Mondays are usually good for me, as it's my day off. Today kinda sucks, though - crappy weather and I am stuck in my apartment waiting for the UPS guy. Can't even knit because I need to go out to buy needles to finish my Honeymoon cami!
