Five Days to Mrs. R
My twin sister is getting married on Saturday. OH MY GAWD. That is so cool and freaky at the same time. I'm working Monday and Tuesday, and then I have Wednesday - Fri off to be Best Twin Sister Ever and Maid of Honor Extraordinaire. Here's hoping I can stand up to the challenge.
Cat's actually quite calm (at least, last time I checked). I know it's going to be beautiful! Ya'll!! Cathy's getting married!! ACCK! I'm not calm!
My household is in super cleaning mode in preparation for this man's arrival:

It's Carrieoke's dad!
Doesn't he look nice? He IS nice! He's staying with us from Wed - Sunday, so we are preparing the guest room and cleaning things that we don't normally clean, like the bathroom. JUST KIDDING, we ALWAYS clean the bathroom. (*giggle*)
In addition to wedding planning and cleaning, I also knitted a LOT this weekend. I finished a sock (YAY!) and now I'm terrified that it won't fit its recipient, but I'm crossing my fingers. And I'm going to block it. And hey, I cast on for Sock #2 and I'm about 3 inches into the leg part. Yahoo! It's moving fast now. Okay, I totally *heart* size 1 dpns. I'm not lying. (Shh...don't tell my Denise Interchangeables. They might get jealous.)
I also finished a lovely, loopy neck warmer using the crazy Phildar shag rug yarn (Anne Marie had the great idea to stop it right when it fit around my neck, add a big old button, and make it a neck warmer. It's SO cute and WARM! ) I actually wore it to work today while scraping ice off my windshield. Ugh. Cold.
Pictures soon. Maybe tomorrow.
In other weekend news, which of the following do you think actually happened this weekend?
a. Carrieoke sang "Hold On" by Wilson Phillips at karaoke
b. Anne Marie sang "Big Ten Inch" while a bunch of high schoolers gawked
c. Jacob held up a 24 oz Coors Light and yelled "Go Dawgs!"
d. All of the Above
tee hee.

So neat to have a twin. You guys look so cute with your dad (nothing to hate about the picture). I love weddings - especially the cake :)

When I was a maid of honor my knees were shaking so hard for the first 5 minutes that I thought I was going to topple over...but then the ceremony started and suddenly it was all ok. :)
I'm sure everything will go swimmingly and you'll have a great time!!!

First off, I love the raglan. It's really cute and suits you so well.
Dad is dapper and does, indeed, look very sweet.
Good luck at the wedding. I hope it's a wonderful day for all involved. Congrats to your sister and the lucky man. :)

Congrats to Cathy and that picture is super cute. Its always neat to see pictures of people with their families once in a while after checking up on their knitting projects constantly. I'm so excited for Cathy! Okay, not that I know Cathy, but I feel like I do. :-) Take a bunch of pictures and remind her to slow down and enjoy the day, that's the best thing my bridesmaids and friends did for me.

I'm on my second sock of my first-ever pair of socks TOO! I also heart size 1 DPNs, although I think mine are size 2. When you get to a size below a 6, does it really matter anymore?
I can't wait to see pictures of yours. Best of luck to your sis. I bet she's freakin' right now. Tell her it's the only day in the world she gets to be a bitch to everyone (except you, her Best Maid of Honor in the Whole Universe, of course) and they can't hate her for it. She should enjoy it while it lasts!!

You talking about Cathy getting married makes me think of my twin sister getting married! She's not engaged yet, but there is some talk of it ;) It's gonna be so weird...
And Wilson Phillips "Hold On"? Awesome karaoke song!

You will be the best maiden of weddings ever!!!
Oh my, some folks are going to Foxz a little bit too much these dayz. I'm jealous!!
I am so proud of you for knitting a sock. That's like incomprehensible.

O Lordy, we are such rednecks!
Glad you wore your neckwarmer...do you reckon' winter's a comin' (that's my new redneck-speak).

It's crazy! It hasn't hit me yet!
I HATE that picture of me. I also can't believe that Jacob said "Go Dawgs!" As you can see, in my last frantic preparations for the wedding, I am...checking blogs.
I probably need to get to work. :)
