Got Yarn?
so the play went well this weekend. Opening night had its...umm... problems, with some microphone feedback and missed lines, etc, but that's to be expected. We had good crowds all weekend, and people were very excited and appreciative about the play. I am v. tired though, especially since I had to do the show Friday, work at coffee shop Sat am, then do the play Sat night, then play piano at church on Sunday. me real sleepy.
on Friday, I also stayed up a little too late ...ahem....drinking red wine with Anne Marie and others, and playing old Nintendo. I SUCK at Duck Hunt. I really, really suck.
we also discovered a nail in my tire this weekend, which equals nice slow leeaaakk and flat tire this morning. yahoo. it felt so like a Monday yesterday, complete with flat tire, and spilling of coffee on signed documents. gah.
To remedy that Monday feeling, I played board games for HOURS with Anne Marie, Jacob, Drew and JoAnna. By the way, I do NOT suck at Boggle. I RULE AT BOGGLE. Not so much at Balderdash.
Oh, I knitted a lot during the play:

now for sleeves.
I have exactly one skein of the aqua left, so I'm hoping it lasts. It must.
And I gave my friend Allison a kitty hat that I've been promising her for awhile:

she make a good cat, don't you think?
This hat, along with one I made for myself, will be making their performance debuts this Thursday in Athens - Allison and her trapeze partner are going to wear them in a trapeze show! How freakin' cool is that? I hope to get pictures of the hats (and the girls) in action. Woot.
*MEAGER STASH REDUCTION ALERT*
In other news: I have 10 skeins of River Tape that I just received, and Rowan's It's a Tape Thing. Supposedly the River Tape gets gauge like Cotton Tape. Here's my offer:
if anyone wants to buy the 10 skeins of River Tape and the pattern book, I'm looking to sell it because my finances are a little strapped right now - as in, I can't afford to have glamourous yarn sitting around. So, leave me a comment if you're interested and I'll tell you how much I paid for it, etc., and see if we can work out a deal.
Someone's taken me up on it! But if you wanna see anyways, here's what it looks like: clicky click for yarn pic.Okay. I have had a royally awful day at work, and I'm ready to knit tonight. I'm gonna knit the crap out of something tonight.

Hey Carrie,
Just reading some of your blog and saw the bit about trapeze! I have a old friend who does trapeze in Athens and I wonder if you know her... Her name is Laura, tall, thin, blonde, married to a guy named John and they have (the last time I checked) two beautiful kids... If you know her, give her my love! Thanks!

Monday bummers on not-Monday are no fun indeed. Awesome about your kitty hats! They'll be little stars, just like you.
Can't wait to see what you knit the crap out of. =)

My mom and I used to have boggle tournaments. I love boggle.
I do not like perfection. My little one loves perfection...it's the thrill of the scare. So I play more perfection than boggle these days.
Still love that yarn. looks great!

Your hats in a trapeze show! How fab and crazy :) The sweater is coming along fast, are you going for a belt thing?

Congratulations on your opening night! Glad to hear it went well, even with the problems. And hey, anyone can do well when everything goes right. The trick to being great is doing it when things go wrong - so double props to you! oh, and the green and purple raglan is turning out so cute!!

I guess Boggle skills are hereditary, because I, too, rock ass at Boggle. I can write GREAT definitions for Balderdash, but I laugh, too.
I hope that today is better after your terrible day yesterday. Yay Carrie!

Knit on, dearest. Knit those blues away.... I hate non-Monday Mondays.

Ah! Big fan of board games here. Too bad the hub doesn't like to play them. Think I should strap him in a chair and make him play, anyway? [Just kiddin'.]
Your knits are looking great! Your friend looks cute in her hat. And that reminds me that I have a kitty hat that I have to knit for my niece...

sorry things are difficult and busy right now. glad you're getting in some quality time with the friends, though. I'm thinking about you, schmoo!

Opening night is always exciting...in good and bad ways! I'm working on a top down raglan too! Mine's only missing 1 sleeve...it's a pain to knit a skinny tube of sleeve!

Cute kitty hat! (and sweater!!) I just made one too!! I haven't posted any pictures yet though... It pretty much looks exactly like yours though, only your EARS are cuter! I did mine my own way and I'm not sure I like them. Whatever.
Today I was at the Kerry/Edwards volunteer office in DC and there was a flyer for a "Kerry-okie" party on the wall...TOTALLY made me think of you :)

The kitty hat is adorable. :)
Yes, you need some knitting and some loves tonight! Go get em!

I love the kitty hat but I'm a little confused...in what type of venue does one have a trapeze show? And how does one become a recreational trapezer?
Hope your day gets way better.

I would be interested in purchasing yarn and pattern. I've actually never knit a piece from anyone else's pattern and this might be the motivation to get me past that. :o) I do love that color so.

crappity crap crap! I want to knit so baaaaad with you guys tonight (that wasn't supposed to be a sheep bleating-type noise, just a measure of my whinyness) but alas, I shall be airborne with Allison and company...I watched her practice her routine with the hat on and I can't remember when I've seen something so cute! xo MJ

Carrie would totally beat Peggy Hill at Boggle. She gets six letter words and then makes them plural. Everyone had an order of magnitude fewer points than Carrie. Oh and Carrie, based on your balderdash skills...I really want to play poker with you ;)
(Carrie laughed everytime someone read her definition, as if we couldn't figure hers out anyways)
Anyway, sorry your day was so bleck. Let's get more wine at knitting tonight!

I love your sweater. The colors are sooo pretty! I love the colors...so I'm #3. So what Phildar mag is that from?

So you'd be willing to take on Peggy Hill at Boggle? *giggle*
