My Holder is Complete

Okay, I really tried to wait until tonight, until Jacob got home and could take a real pretty picture of me in my newly completed boob holder, but I just got so excited and couldn't wait. After all, my car port is the ultimate location for a modeling session, right? (edited to add: Jacob took some pictures this evening in the sunlight and you can see them here)

I'm tilting my head 'cause I'm happy.

This pattern is so fun, and I want to make like 10 of these in different colors and yarns to wear over different outfits. I'm definitely making a couple more very soon. Here's the back:

me likey.

Stefanie mentioned that she's working on a cotton one, which seems like a great idea for summer into fall ... although my TLC Amore (80% acrylic, 20% nylon, and yes, made by the same company that makes Red Heart) is quite comfortable and not too warm for a breezy day. I didn't even use the whole skein of yarn! That's less than four bucks for this cute little thing.

I did ribbing at the bottom border and at the end of the sleeves because I wanted it to be a little stretchy around those areas. The cool thing about Stef's pattern is that it's easy to add your own kind of edging in if you want. I don't think I'm going to add the border to this one, but definitely in a future version.

What a great pattern, Glammy Stef....

Hmm. next on the knitting agenda: making a pair of socks. I've never made a pair before and I really want to try because I know I can do it. I read on Rachael's blog that Bernat Denim Style makes great thick, quick socks, so I figured I'd try that, since I have like 50 million balls of Bernat Denim Style (it was on sale one time and I went nuts.) I am armed with that yarn, Wendy's tips on toes, and also Wendy's toe up sock pattern. (Thanks, Wendy!) So I gotta make a swatch and knit away. I hope I can do it.

Ooh, I wanna make this too: a very harlot poncho....too cute. In something summery. Any suggestions for a good, affordable summery poncho yarn?

Now that I am flea-free**, I will use my superpowers to hypnotize you!! Muah-ha-ha-ha!

Thanks for all the good luck wishes on New Orleans*. I'll keep you posted about what goes on...and to make the trip even more exciting, I think a good knitblogging friend is going to meet us for a while. Watch out, New Orleans....

*I really want to create a graphic for my blog that has a little knitting girl with a microphone in one hand and knitting needles in the other. (get it? carrieoke? karaoke? didja get it? ) However, my attempts have been painful. if anyone knows how to do that kind of stuff and wants to arrange some kind of trade, email me at cncokerATugaDOTedu.

**ooh, and thanks to reader Amy who suggested calling my vet for the flea pill. I did, and we got it for both dogs, and they are the happiest little schmoos in the world now. so, while they are flea free, we're going to spray down our yard and the house and hopefully eliminate the rest of them. Yay!

Found your site through blogspot and wanted to say hi

That mini sweater is awesome. I usually wear shawls to keep the chill off...but this is so unique. Did you follow the pattern exactly..just not the border? Love the color also!! :-)

Your boobholder looks so great! American Idol, HERE YOU COME! :)

Wow! You look so amazingly gorgeous in those pictures, Carrie! You are totally ready for the cameras at American Idol. :) Yay for boobholders!

Hey, drop me a line - maybe I can help you with that graphic you're thinking about for the blog title...

I like the middle Jacob picture, the one with the smouldering glance. Hotchy motchy.

Your boobholder is excellent! Those are great pictures, too.

What if you had a picture of a girl singing into the knitting needles, like we used to do with hairbrushes and the like when we were little? Would that even look like what it's supposed to? Maybe it would look...dirty. Hmmm. I wish I could help you, but I'm so graphically challenged.

It looks sooo cute! I love it...nice America's Next Top Model Pose, by the way! ;)

Love it!

That boob holder came out as cute as I thought it would! What a perfect thing to wear over t-shirts or dresses. They're very flattering on you, too. You should definitely kick out a few more!

hey carrie! your boobholder looks so great i HAD to make one this weekend while i was away in Maryland! not finished yet, but almost there. as i've said before... knitting blogs: inspiration or facilitator of compulsive spending? lol... i think a little of both! look at me with my knitter's ADD. i have that *#$&@ hush to finish! :-P

Your boob holder's great, I am SO making one (I may even copy your color!). Did you adjust the pattern for the sleeves? The fit on them seems to be slimmer than Steph's, which is what I'd want. The fuller sleeves look so cute on her, but they'd make me look like a linebacker. :)

wow, i love that minisweater! and those additional pics are great! such a glam pattern and i love the color you used. and you're right, you can do so much with it. i could go for it in many colors too. guess i better start swatching. and can't wait to see you dive into socks. i've been trying to figure out where to start with them too. wendy's toe up sounds like a great place to start!

Very CUTE! I love how it fits.. perfect. I made one about a week ago out of LionBrand Homespun but didn't adjust the pattern for guage and it ended up huge in the arms. I have a skein of that TLC yarn in black sitting here and I think its calling to be made into another boob holder. Its always nice to see stuff made in yarns that you don't have to morgage your house to afford!

Hey, glad to hear you located a source for the flea pill and happy to have been of help! Truly amazing product, supposedly kills them all within an hour or two. Couple it with Advantage or one of those flea products and you have it made...

You look fantastic in your boob holder :) Love the hair cut and the new steaks too...

Carrie! Nice job on the boob holder. I admittedly was a little suspicious as I would look silly wearing it, but oh my gosh it looks awesome on you! Great color and yarn choice! I'm converted!

Yay boob holder! I love it - and you look great!

OhMyGoodness! I am newly addicted to you and your blog! Lovely Boob Cozy. I want me one. I love your sassy dog too!

You are soooooooo cute! I'm sitting at work with my knittin' girls, and we're swooning over the holder. You look fantastic, doll. xo

cuuuuuuute! and love the outdoor pics - you are one hott chiquita!

The boob holder looks so cute!

(and hooray for flea-free schmoos!)

Hi Carrie,
I thought you might like to see a picture of my finished Polka Purl Dots (in Tahki Cotton Classic). Here is the link: http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/fathomknits/detail?.dir=/6040&.dnm=6de6.jpg I love it. The photo is an action shot with my doggie Tiko, who just could not stop playing tug of war long enough to let the picture get taken. All the crazy playing meant that the top got hiked up a little, so imagine that it is longer, which it actually is in real life.
In the same album are a couple other pictures of it along with some other knitting.
Tiko and I love reading your blog. He has a crush on Lil Frankie.

Wow, you sure whipped that boob (holder) out fast!!! :-D I LOVE it! I think I have to make myself one...my little boobies would really love to be enhanced!

Cutie! Boobie! You are going to get lots of traffic from this post... hehe.

I need to get my hands on that cheap yarn- I wonder if they sell it anywhere up here?! I love that burgandy color, it is my new favorite!

Awesome job, as always!

(What the hell is a bubba heiney, AM?! Is that some kind of southern term? haha)

so damn cute!

Carrie,
I get the biggest kick out of your blog! Your boob holder is darling. Wish I were young enough to wear one. I think my 23 yo daughter would wonder what in the world I was thinking!
Wanted to let you know that my son's girlfriend went to St. Louis last weekend to try out for AI. She said she had a lot of fun and met a lot of really nice people. The actual try-outs were difficult though. There were judges under tents with long lines of people waiting to try. She said she could hear the people on either side of her singing so on top of being really nervous she couldn't hear herself. Unfortunately she forgot the words to her chosen song and didn't get to go to the next level. She is planning on trying again when she can make the arrangements. Be sure and take throat medicine with you. She said her throat got really raw from singing so much before her try-out. Best of luck to you. Enjoy Nwarlens! It is a fun city, but be careful too!

Carrie!

You are going into my reader gallery right now!

Your boobholder looks so cute! I'm glad you liked the pattern. You're one of the first test-knitters.

Thank you for the awesoem reviews!
-Stefanie.

The boob holder is adorable. Now I have an idea of what I should use some of my extra yarn for... love Steph's designs. Any other info on the flea pill? We could use some help in our home, but I want to make sure it's something safe for the Kooshers (our word for Schmoo).

Hey, good luck with the socks! Once you start, you can't stop! On Wendy's 'tips on toes' I liked the 'figure 8' toe the best. After you knit a couple of rounds, you just go back and pull that first row of stitches tighter and voila! you're off to the races.

I'm thinking the boob holder might be a good way to give a little um, emphasis, to the boobally challenged such as myself. What do you think?

Oh my gosh! It's so cute! I LOVE IT! I want one....:) Can you tell that I'm tired from the first week of school with all of my exclamation points? Yay Friday. Yay boobholder!

Bella is a little vampire doggy, like Bunnicula. Remember those books?

I love your boulder holder! It's so cute. I like the cotton idea, I have a cone of white washcloth cotton that is itchin' to be knit into outerwear :)
Bella looks like a litle vampire bat in that picture. She is a bubba heiney!
