Morning, sunshine
It's Monday.
I updated my finished gallery if you want to check it out.
I had to frog the boob holder as it was because I went way too many rows and the sleeves were giganti-normous. Just huge. *Pout*. Here's what's left of it. And yes, I could have just frogged back a few rows, but I got really mad at my knitted item and did some awful things to it involving a pair of scissors.
But since this pattern is so good, I couldn't resist casting on my stitches and starting again, as you can see here:

Begin again.
This yarn, by the way, is an acrylic blend made by TLC called Amore. I got it at Hobby Lobby, and I love it. Seriously. It's four bucks for a big honkin' skein and I'm sure I can get my whole boob holder out of one skein. Yay for affordable yarn.
Oh, and if you need some additional encouragement to make one of these cute little mini-sweaters, go look at Stefanie's beautiful pics that she posted. Umm, how beautiful is she? Acck! And the sweater looks fabulous too. So she designed it AND looks great in it. Go, Stef.
I had a really fun weekend...it was the fifth anniversary of the church where I play the piano, and we had lots of festivities, including a big old potluck (where I noted that potlucks are the only time you can eat fried chicken and lasagna in the same meal and no one bats an eye. Yum.) and a drag show on Saturday night. (I know church function doesn't usually equal drag show, but this church is a Metropolitan Community Church, which is an outreach to the GLBT community.) The drag show included Morticia Deville and her back-up singers the Gospel Echoes, who perform Southern Gospel songs in drag. Really.
It was all a bit surreal as I have never seen praise and worship songs performed by drag queens (and it is very different to see a drag show outside of the the bar - drinking context) but it was really entertaining.
Cathy and Wes (her fiance) and Wes' parents came up for the show and the church service the next morning. Wes' brother is gay and his parents are super involved in PFLAG and they were really interested in seeing what the church was about. I think a good time was had by all.
Ooh, and look what Jacob brought back from Powder Springs, courtesy of his Nana?
Tomatoes from her garden:

Delicious.
and a stepping machine! This ain't no Stairmaster, people. This is a stepper, brought back to increase the chances that I might actually exercise at home. We shall see.
Oh, and Polka Purl Dots Progress Check:

Are we there yet?
Click to zoom in on the faux seed stitch side seams.
Okay, enough rambling for today. I was also going to show you pictures of my bonsai trees and talk to you about American Idol, but that's going to have to be for another post, seeing as how it's time to go back to work.
Mwah!
Oh, go see Freckle Girl! She has some big news....

I have been excerising at home and it has been working out! I walk at least 20 minutes a day about 5 times a week and I change the route daily. I tell myself the goal is to work up a sweat and breathe good air (no "E" word)
and I do hand weight training and a band work out twice a week, totalling 30-35 minutes. I also do Yoga on days when I want more than walking and have not done the weights and bands. My bod is firming up. email me if you want the handweight link.
Great blog! Thank you!

Nice gallery!
RIP Boobieholder #1...(que freaky music) uh...put the scissors down! Carrie?!! Carrie?!! aaaaaaaaak!
I did that to a knitting book once...only I stabbed it with a pair of aluminums, repeatedly.
I taught it a lesson...great stress relief!
ahem... love the polka!

I would never have noticed from the picture before that the sleeves were too big on the boobie holder. Can't wait to see how the new one turns out!

Just fix as you go - knit up to the start of your seed stitch, then ladder down with a crochet hook and pull it back up proper, incorporating any purls that you need to - a little tricksy, but a helluva lot easier than ripping.

Hey there chica, Just checked out your Finished Gallery and wow, you are quite the proliferous (and talented) knitter! Nice work...now put the scissors down! ;)
How are the schmoos? Oscar says BARK bark! (he's much more barky today than woofy)

D'oh! I think you might be right, Laura.
What to do?!?!?! I don't want to frog...please don't make me frog..

I'm sure boob holder v.2.0 will turn out great (and yay for affordable yarn!).
a little thing about PPD - I started it and got quite a while in before giving up and frogging (I made stupid mistakes and it was also too small). Aren't the seed stitch "seams" supposed to stay only 2 sts wide and the increases incorporated into the charted pattern? looks fabby otherwise :)

PPD is looking great! I totally admire your dedication. Jason and I are joining a gym tommorow to increase our non-existent workout routine, we'll see how that goes. Oh, and you really must stop saying "boob holder" because I can no longer access you from work. :-) That's the only think I can think of that would make our filter think you of all people are pornography. :-)

Scissors?! EEK!
My Polka Purl Dots is stalled four rows in from the beginning. It's now living vicariously through yours because I just don't have the patience for those loooooong rows right now.

Hi Carrie!
I'm sorry about your boob holder sleeves being so huge.
I hope that the pattern finally works out! I started another one today. A cotton one, so I can wear it in summer.
I like your new finished items update...I should really do that. I post aobut them, but then never update the ol' gallery.
I'm interested to see how polka purls comes out.
It looks rather challenging!

Ah- the frogging!! it hurts for only a little while... well, until you can get it back to where you had it! It is worth it though! :)
Thanks for the note about our "news"! :) You are a sweetie. Casey told me he was happily anticipating a note from you! He loves getting happy Carrie notes! Who doesn't?!

Only two things that money can't buy,
That's true love and home grown tomatoes.
You lucky thing you...

THERE'S your vogue goddess tank! I wondered, I searched high and low on your site, and I finally got to see a picture! It looks great and I LOVE the color.
Cheap yarn, chicken and lasagna, what more can you ask for?

Yikes...sorry about the boobie holder...I feel badly about it because I told you that the arms were good. Doh!
Your finished gallery looks great too!
Oh, and the thought of you on that stepper has made my day. I am picturing you on it right out by the road, waving to the cars on hwy. 72 :)
Don't hurt yourself on the thing!
