Blog Blog Blog

my first blog title image
Did you know that it's been over a year since I started this little blog? The reason I know that is because my kick ass web hostess Becky told me so! Becky has been encouraging me, helping me and commenting on my site since it was a not-very-well-done free Geocities site. Thanks to her encouragement, I have learned CSS, a little php, and lots and lots about knitting. And I've met so many great people! So here's a big THANK YOU to Becky, and yay for the knitblogging community...let's pat ourselves on the back *pat* for being such a supportive and fun group of people.
Thanks also for all your kind words about my waitressing fiasco. I'll admit, I was feeling a little guilty this weekend about it...missing some of the nice people I work with...thinking that I over-reacted. And then I called up there to chat with one of the bartenders and she said "good for you, I almost walked out on Saturday myself! This place sucks!" And I remembered why I left in the first place....and the guilt went away. Mostly. ( I was raised Catholic, you know, so the guilt never fully disappears. ;) )
To break the monotony of Polka Purl Dots, I started a fun and fast project that is too cute: Stefanie's boob holder ... how freakin' cute is that ? I don't really have the boobs to hold it up, exactly, but I can always use another cute little sweater. I'm using some acrylic / nylon blend yarn that I bought really cheap a while back and it's RED. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

I'm sorry, Schmoo isn't available right now. Can I take a message?
I think Bella is mad at me. She and Chili just got a bout of fleas, and her Frontline has been applied, but it's taking a few days to work so we're having to leave Bella outside more often than usual. I'm still giving her lots of attention and affection but just not in the house. So this morning when I came outside to say hi, Chili came running up to the gate but Bella didn't even come out of their doggy mansion. She just lifted her head, and then went back to sleep. Maybe she was just REALLY comfortable. Harumph. I'm a needy dog owner!
I'll be posting pictures of Bella and L'il Frankie playing later this week. It was a strange encounter because Frankie was REALLY scared. Bella just wanted to play so she kept barking and putting her paws down in that doggy-yoga position that means PLAY WITH ME. It was so cute to watch them together. Of course they are on their way to best-friend-dom.
Okay. Gotta head to lunch. SO HUNGRY..........

Maybe Bella is just a "little dog with a problem." I know what that's like. Something's bothering me but my mommy thinks I'm just being aloof. If it helps at all, a band called Masters of the Hemisphere have a song where the chorus is "Just a little dog with a problem..." and you can sing it to Bella and it will make her feel better.
:)

What a schmoo your Bella is. She is so very very cute. So is the new sweater - red sounds fab. But I agree with Anne Marie, don't give up on the polka purls!

Next time the doggies get fleas ask your vet (or phone around..) and get the pill you give them which IMMEDIATELY kills all fleas within the hour (to be followed up by whatever you are using..) My shmoo is highly allergic to flea bites and when I went in the 'pill' was recommended. Cost me $2.50, no idea what it was called unfortunately.. Phone around.. I am in Canada but surely the technology is down there too.

Hi Carrie, Happy Birthday to your Knitting Blog!
Okay, I'm trying this again, I posted it somewhere else, but clearly I have no idea what I am doing.
Anyway...
I am a friend of long-haired Dave (I'm sure he has a last name but I can never ever remember it, ever, despite the fact that I have known him for years) with whom you work at your computery job, and I was was hanging out with him at Borders knitting socks and talking about how I really wanted to start a knitting group in Athens because the sweet ladies that own the knitting group in Watkinsville where I live are sweet but boring and most likely voting for Bush. Dave then said "do you know Carrie?" and I do not. So he suggested that I contact you - because a.) you are apparently very cool and b.) you like to knit.
So - email me please! Do you have a knitting group in Athens? We need one if not.
Hope to talk to you soon - and please let me apologize for taking up so much space in the comment section, but I couldn't find an email address for you.
Thanks!!!
- Sarah B

I'm glad that you have a blog so everyone else in the world knows how cool you are...:)
Love,

HAPPY BERFDAY!!!!!! [Throws confetti all around.]
It's been a perpetual blast having your sparkly and cute self over here. I'm very happy you're here, and am constantly impressed at how fast you learn everything!

P.S. Can't wait to see the boob tube. Your boy's eyes are gonna pop out of their sockets when he gets to photograph you wearing it.

i'm making stephanie's boob holder, too, though to friends and family i'm referring to it as a "very short sweater." (they wouldn't understand.) it's a very fun and relaxing project, and it's something that can be fiddled with to personalize. i'm excited to see how somone else's turns out.

I saw the boob holder last week and fell in love with it. I adore cute little sweaters. It quickly got bumped up ahead of everything else on my list. I'm thinking some yarn with a ton of colors in it so it matches everything and I can wear it all the time! Ha ha!
Very excited to see pics of your progress for inspiration!

The boob holder is great...it would look really cute over a little black dress. But keep at the polka purl dots, girl. I know what you mean by being an impatient knitter, I'm one too. I start knitting washcloths when something is taking too long.

Cute little sweater- I wasn't sure what to expect with you calling it a boob holder! haha
That would look really cute with a little tank top or a dress under it.
