TGIF, for real.

It's Friday! And I'm going to see David Byrne tonight! Yahoo!

As promised, here is a picture of my Harry Potter scarf-in-progress:

where are Hermione's charmed needles when I need them?

Dude, this thing is taking forever to knit. I started this a long, long time ago, right when I first started knitting, and now it's lengthening much faster because I can knit in the round while watching TV or reading or whatever. But STILL! In order for it to wrap around my neck and still hang down, I've got a ways to go. And I really need to finish this before I start any new projects...I actually might sell this to someone. I just don't know if I can part with it, after working on it for so long. I mean, I like Harry Potter. A lot. But I don't know if I can make another scarf for me.....Oh, decisions.

(Have you seen the new movie yet? I'm hearing wonderful things, and if Gary Oldman is Sirius Black, I'm already in love. I love me some Gary Oldman.)cashlounge.jpg

But, I'm thinking I might be making another felted bag soon, or maybe even working on some wintry stuff, since my stash is running low on summer yarn. I have been noticing some lovely projects from the scrap-along that Larissa is hosting. Check out Larissa's on her June 9th post -- so cute. I've been thoroughly inspired to start my own Scrap-Along project, a top-down raglan with some modifications along the way. Although, my scraps are going to be sooo crazy that maybe I shouldn't add any other distraction to the sweater...I DO want it to be wearable. We shall see.

It has been a long, long week, in workland, homeland, and blogland. I am ready to relax on my couch and knit my hands off and watch Big Fish (I love you, Netflix!). I want to be as relaxed as this doggy here...this is Cash, my sister and brother-in-law's dog, and he is a schmoo. He's also super photogenic (although it helps that my brother-in-law is a graphic designer and an excellent photographer...)

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I plan to dance my tail off tonight at the David Byrne show and then sleep in on Saturday!

Thanks for making my week more bearable! Mwah!

Oooh you've inspired me to make my boyfriend's nephew a scarf like that... yours looks fabulous... very nice. :0)

Question from a very inexperienced beginning knitter:
On the scarf - How did you change colors and not have strings hanging off at every switch? Is there a way to switch colors without having to sew in all of the loose strings?

Hey, the Harry potter scarf looks great. And unless that's a giant stick of deodorant, it looks like the scarf is really long already. Thanks for posting the picture of Cash, he looks so sweet.
PS Did you get dehydrated at David Byrne or what?

Hey kiddo, I HAVE A SERIOUS THING FOR DAVID BYRNE. Was he wonderful? How could he not be? Sigh. Lovely dog photo (yay dogs), and your scarf is coming along very well. Soon it will be the length of 50 speed sticks!

I posted a response to the KC Kerfluffle in the Captain comments, but I had to come back and post that Cash is beautiful...nothing says soulful like the eyes of a Weimaraner. He looks so dignified and relaxed, as if he's in a Vanity Fair cover shoot.

With our whippet Tahoe, we always had people telling us how dignified and "expensive" and "cultured" he looked, which always made us laugh as he was the biggest copraphage ever. ;p

Oh, that Mar is just jealous because you seem like a happy person and she seems so bitter about everything, and you knit and finish items and have pix of them, whereas I think she just talks about knitting but never actually knits - or at least I've not seen much proof of it.

Yikes ! I've only just read about all that KC c**p - Bron mentioned it on her blog.
You write what you want, knit what you want, love your dogs and be happy.
In prettyposies sisterhood I say YAY !

Hope David was great! I'm very jealous.

Yeah, the movie rocked. Probably my favorite so far. Gary Oldman was, of course, amazing, and Emma Thompson, though her part was even smaller, was just divine. You'll love it.

long live the schmoos! i promise we don't pose him like that.

Hey! I'm making a Harry Potter scarf in the round as well. Course, now I have stopped for a bit because it is so darn boring!! I have like 6 stripes done and I'm planning to do 19. Anyway, yours looks great, I should put pictures of mine on my knit blog too!!

Have fun at David Byrne! And although Gary Oldman's part is fairly small, he made the movie even better than it would have been. I drooled all over myself.

I've been following this latest blog-iversy, and I just had to pop over here and give you a cyber-hug. So sorry that there is so much venom going on over at that other site. You did nothing to deserve all of that negativity. Don't let them get you down.

Cheers to you...and happy knitting!

I read it all, and I'm here to say, schmoo on, girlfriend! :) Post your puppies!
:)
Happy knitting!

Oh what a cute schmoo your nephew-to-be is!

Happy knitting to you, and next week will be much better.

Mwah! :->

cash looks a little sad there. smooch smooch cash.

i was so confused about the speed stick! but then i realized it was there for perspective ;) lol...it's been a long day!

That dog is shameful...btw, you should check out the link on fluffa about the NEW Harry Potter scarves for Prisoner of Azkaban. There's a pattern for the new Hogwarts scarves. They're different!! (You probably already started knitting it.)

I'm amazed that someone already had the pattern out. Then again, I'm can't imagine a) creating a pattern or b) actually finishing a project :)...sigh...

Have fun at David Byrne!
