Sicky Poo.
I'm home sick. And, really, I am SICK. My stomach decided to have its own little fiesta last night and I spent the majority of our knitting night in the bathroom. (Too much information? Sorry.) But I did manage to have lots of fun anyways -- Anne Marie and Leslie and Jenna came over and we knitted while watching "The Joe Schmo Show" on Spike, the First Network for Men. "The Joe Schmo Show" is a parody of reality shows, and as an expert on reality shows, I can tell you that it's a damn good parody, and it's freakin' hilarious. (Basically, it's a fake reality show, but two of the contestants think it's all real. Cruel, but hilarious.)
But I really didn't intend for my whole post to be about my TV habits. I have a finished Grape Twist to show ya!

Carolyn, thanks for this yarn. It made my Grape Twist happy.
I'm loving this top. I'm still making a few modifications on the armholes...I sweat a lot (ew, too much information again) and I'm really conscious of tight armholes, so I'm trying to loosen them a little without making them look stupid. But, this pattern is super easy and FAST. I knitted mine using Berroco Pronto on size 13s and I was finished in a day or two. The pattern's designer calls it "a midnight snack" of a pattern, and I think that sums it up. Fast, easy, and satisfying. Yum! And Bella likes it too!
I'm going to spend my sick day swatching for Polka Purl Dots, (keeping in mind the warnings about this pattern's wonkiness), watching TV, and maybe knitting up a dishcloth or something. And sleeping. Yay! As much as I hate having explosive...well, you know....., I really needed a day off from work. It's been really hectic lately.
Off to the couches. Have a great day!

Carrie - I saw that you knit the Chevron Rib Tank with Cotton Fleece? The IK pattern calls for a heavy worsted weight yarn, were there any problems changing to a DK weight?? I want to knit this top and have some Cotton Fleece on it's way to me so I'm hoping it works okay. I tend to knit loosely so I hope this will work. The top looks great on you!!

Did you have to make any pattern changes, or were you able to make gague with Berroco?

Wow - your Grape Twist is the bomb! I had seen the pattern in Knitty but it didn't look like something I would ever make. You definitely make people rethink that pattern. Hope your tummy woes are better soon. Hug the schmoos!

Poor Carrie -- I hope you feel better soon. Grape Twist is great (cute doggie photo, too).
I'm starting PPD too! But... what warnings? What wonkiness? You're worrying me.

Oi..you didn't sound like you had fun last night! I hope you get over your stomache issues fast. I cannot believe how quickly you finished your Grape Twist! That's amazing! It looks great on you. Do you only work on 1 project at a time?

sorry you feel so shitty! (what a great pun!)
your newest top looks great! and super-fast you say?!? how much pronto did you need, cause i have some that could be something, even if it's ugly army colors!

Ok, let me get this straight.
I go to your blog and you are trying to decide what project you are going to do next.
I come back and unfortunately you are not feeling too well(hope you doing great now).
And I scroll down to see even in that short time, even though you were not feeling well you end up with the cutest tope ever. The color and fit are soo great. That is truly my favorite neckline! I can never find a top cut like that that isn't too tight or too loose at the shoulders. You're not even feeling 100%, but came out knitting like a rock star.
Now that's talent! You got skills!

Hi Carrie,
Hope you're feeling better already! I love your top and I have to admit that it has inspired me to get past the scarf only knitting stage that I have been in for an eternity. Now I just have to find some great yarn and I am ready to "experiment".

That was a super quick knit! It's lovely, I like the yarn and the shape - very pretty. Hope you feel better soon.

What the ...? You're DONE with Grape Twist already? That was fast, woman! It looks fabulous on you!
Sorry to hear you're not feeling well, but a day off of work is always good! Feel better soon, chica.

I'm glad you are taking a sick day. Knit on!
I hope your intestines feel better...it's that Taco Stand stuff. I had beer cheese soup today at 5 Star Day....I might be out sick tomorrow. Take care.
Oh, and leave the armholes the way they are! Everybody is sweaty in this humidity.

Hey Carrie! I'm sorry you're sick. I had the same thing about every other day while we were in Mexico last week. No fun! I hope everything comes out alright for ya!

Feel better, Carrie!! I wish I was sitting on my couch & knitting...

If anyone accuses you of being all "yay knitting yay dogs!" all the time, you can just refer them to this entry. I like that you put yourself out there in a sincere way whether you are excited about your pets or having digestive problems. It sounds weird but it's true. Thanks for being yourself.

Wow Carrie...your Grape Twist looks fabulous. I saw the pattern in knitty and wasn't sure I loved it but your might convince me to give it a try! Have a good sick day! (keep up the good work on the blog and the knitting you're so excellent at both!)

Wow, what a fabulous sweater! And done so quick! I am inspired to try my hand at one myself. Now go get well!
