Full of Pride
It was Pride Weekend in Atlanta! I couldn't go because I am the church pianist at a GLBT church and everyone went to Pride and I had to stay and play at church service. But my sister and her fiance and his family went!!

here they all are marching in the parade!
Here's a picture of Cathy and Wes getting soaked at the Parade.
Cathy's fiance is Wes. His little brother Will is gay and his family is really involved with PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbian and Gays). Yay for supportive families and parents!! Those "Full of Pride for My Son" and "Full of Pride for My Brother" signs make me tear up. I wish I could have been there, but thanks to Cathy and Wes for representin'.
So I had this great picture of my new felted and completed Amazing Technicolor Dream Bag, but of course I left my USB cord at home for my digital camera. So. Oops. I guess that pic is coming tomorrow. It's pretty crazy looking, but I think I like it. I used the strap from the Suki pattern and it's long enough so I can wear it like a messenger bag. Yahoo! Pics tomorrow, I promise.
This weekend I worked a lot and played a lot too. Friday night we went to a coffee shop with Anne Marie and her friend Debbie. We played Scrabble... I was in the lead for a long time!! And, damnit, if Jacob didn't make an amazing comeback and beat me in the end by like a word. Grr. It frustrates and pleases me to no end that Jacob always beats me in Scrabble. I must, I must, I must increase my ability to use triple word scores to my advantage. Saturday I worked at Molly's all afternoon and evening and then we had a few beverages on the ve-rahn-dah at a bar downtown. Ah, it was lovely outside and the beer was cheap and flowing. Yay.
I keep meaning to swatch for Polka Purl Dots and then I get sidetracked. I think we're probably going to have knitting night tonight and I will do it then! I must! I really want to knit this top!!
Thanks for all the tagline suggestions. I think that the word schmoo should definitely be involved in some way. I'm still pondering, and the new design may pop up any day now...be on the lookout!

That's the best frikken pride photo I've seen in a long long long time. Brings me back to feeling good about pride instead of sad.... thanks, doll.

The Scrabble secret: go for the points, even at the expense of a great word. I know it's hard, and when you can spell, say, "knitter" or "woolly" it's very tempting to lay those tiles down, but if "dog" has more points, you've got to swallow your pride!
Hey, speaking of pride, nice photo! They look like a fun bunch of people. :)

That is a very nice picture of a family who supports their son.
Thanks for sharing the picture and smiles with us.

that parade looks a lot tamer than the chicago one which had some floats with such rocking loud music that the walls in my 8th floor apartment were shimmerin' to the beat. i was incredibly anti crowds this weekend, so just glanced out at it occasionally from the windows....
