busy busy busy

me, my dad, Cat. yay family!
Jacob took this picture when we visited my dad in NC. Isn't my dad cute? We had a lot of fun and ate North Carolina barbecue-- (which Jacob doesn't understand and rejects. He doesn't know what he's missing. Yum.) Good times were had by all.
I am so freakin' busy. I remember reading on someone's blog about vacation re-entry...coming back to the real world after vacationing....and how bad it sucks. I am here to agree wholeheartedly! I have been so slammed at work ever since I got back, and it doesn't look like it's slowing down anytime soon. (Tis the end of the fiscal year and people get antsy and busy. Yay, office stuff.) In addition, I play the piano at choir rehearsal once a week, I try to waitress Mondays and Fridays at Molly's, and I just auditioned for a play last night. Aack! What am I doing?
It's so hard for me to decide to cut stuff out, though. And the piano playing and the waitressing are for MONEY, so they must be there. The play is to keep me sane...it makes me happy. I think that when I'm so busy that I HAVE to organize, it makes my life a little smoother.
My band is gearing up for our first live show on June 19. Athens has this big local music festival every year called Athfest, and there's a related festival that's just for electronic music called Wired. That's where my band will be playing. It will be short and sweet...just a few songs...but it will still be fun to try out the live show and see what it's like. I'm just going with the flow with this band gig to see what happens....
And in knitting news? Nothing much going on right now. I was just starting to run low on yarn when my Not-So-Secret Pal sent me a lovely gift certificate for a lovely store, so now I have to decide what I'm going to use it for! (Thanks to Jen for rocking so hard.) Until I purchase so more yarn, I'm just working on a Harry Potter scarf that I started centuries ago and will hopefully finish this week. Maybe.
In other strange news, I started eating a little differently this week. My whole family (mom, both sisters, their husbands/fiances) have started the South Beach Diet, which made me laugh A LOT at first but apparently they're all feeling great and losing weight and happy as larks. Well, I wouldn't mind feeling great too, so I started eating the way Suzanne Somers says to in her collection of books about Somersizing. I know....you can laugh.... but the food is actually really good, and my stomach hasn't bothered me in three days. Now THAT's an accomplishment. So, I'll let you know how it goes. The next step is for me and Jacob to start exercising, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. We'll see about that.
P.S. Thanks for all the lovely comments about my goddess tank. I did not, however, knit Cathy's floppy beach hat...that's a Gap special, baby.

Cute picture! :) Dads rock.
Anyhoo- I meant to ask you before but where did you find that Vogue Knitting strappy tank? I love it. It is calling to me. I *must* knit it.
In what book/ mag did you find it? Thanks a bunch.

Yay Harry Potter scarf! I sometimes think about starting some winter projects so that they will actually be finished in time to use them. Girl---you will fell better if you stop eating food from Molly O'Shea's---Somersize, Schmomersize. You look fabulous. Eat some stuff with vitamins, like vegetable and fruit. North Carolina BBQ and fried catfish from Molly's do not fit in those categories. :)
