Yarn makes me smile.
So I'm having sort of a crappy morning....went to a meeting at 8:30 only to find that the location had been moved and no one emailed or called to tell me where. Grr. Then, I find that the printer toner and paper I ordered for SPEEDY delivery on Thursday was not at the office. Or en route. Instead, it was delivered to Arnold. Whoever that is. Wrong office. Grr.
So I went to lunch with a grumpy feeling, and I checked the mailbox to find.. this!

my Secret Knitting Pal made my DAY!!!
It's 10 (!) skeins of Cascade Cotton Rich, a luscious, soft cotton blend that makes me want to swoon. Oh, the softness. Oh, the color! Here is a close-up of the color...it's a soft warm dark pink flecked with dark purple. Oh, lovely yarn. How I love thee. Obviously, my Secret Knitting Pal not only has impeccable taste in yarn, but she senses when I am going to have a crappy Monday and TIMES the yarn delivery accordingly. Secret Knitting Pal, you rock my world. THANK YOU!
La la. I'm determined to have a good day now, even though the Office Gods are conspiring against me.
This weekend was fun-filled! I had a great show, and here are some pictures from backstage to prove it.

To the left, you see me and my fellow actor Bryan. (I was concentrating on keeping the camera steady) We have a bunch of scenes together, including a kiss (!) and two(!) where I play his mom. Tee hee. (It's a musical, people. You gotta suspend the disbelief.) Then, here is a dopey picture of me dressed as an annoying mother... kinda scary. The show went SOO well, although the audience was small, but a friend from work came. This weekend Jacob's family is coming, including his parents, his sister and her boyfriend. Yay! And ooh, I'm a little nervous. I hope the show goes well. I've never done a run of a show for this long before, so the show has become second nature...but it's like when you're reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, and then you start to THINK about it, and then you forget all the words. You know? Or is that just me... The show WILL be great!!
Okay. top down is almost done. Maggie asked me in the comments why this one was so much more fun for me that the last one...I really think it's the yarn. The CottonTots is so soft and light and fluffy, it just feels like it's flying off the needles and it goes so fast! The Lamb's Pride Worsted just gets a little heavy after a while. I'm also a lot more familiar with the pattern now.
Hope you're having a good Monday. I'm going to finish this grumpy day off on a good note, grr.
P.S. I put up a new skin -- some green. It's fun.

Not to sound bratty but your Secret Knitting Pal is better than mine!!!! I am sooo jealous of that beautiful yarn.
Yes. I have reverted back to grade school where everybody else has all the cooler stuff I want.

Isn't it fun to get yummy surprises in the mail? I got my Threadbear stuff yesterday, too. I've already started my first CW and I'm almost to the first color change! Yay for Yarn! :)

That yarn looks very yummy! How much Cotton Tots has your top down taken so far (how many skeins)? Just checking because I have some Cotton Tots in my yarn closet beckoning to me.
