Honeymoon's Over

Yay! I finished my pretty-in-pink honeymoon cami!

finishedhoney.jpg
oh honeymoon cami, how I love thee...

Click here to see the back of the cami. (Pardon my crazy hair and eyes in these pictures). I love this tank top! The pattern is easy to follow and creates lovely shaping on the sides (thanks, Julia!) and it's in the round, so no side seams for me! (You know how I feel about side seams...) If you want a quick, sassy little tank for the summer, I highly recommend this pattern. Thanks also to my Secret Knitting Pal who gifted me with the luscious yarn for this tank...I can't wait to find out who ya are!!!

More project pics for ya! My sister Michelle is working on the adorable Daisy from Summer Knitty, and check out how cute it is turning out!

I'm a tiny sweater! Woot!

Okay, how cute is that? Baby sweaters are precious, and Michelle is making this one extra pretty. I can't wait to see it finished!!

And, for your viewing pleasure, some silly pictures of our little party this weekend...this was actually before people came over, when me, Leslie and Jacob were singing karaoke by ourselves. Oh, it was damn fun. Stop laughing.

'Love is the drug got a hold on me.....'

I left this picture wide so you could see not only Jacob's karaoke face, but our dark wood paneling in the den, our bug pictures on the mantle, and the barracuda that Jacob caught over the mantle. You like our decor?

Here's another one for good measure: me and Leslie singing...umm...Mandy? I can't remember. Oh! It was Copacabana. We love us some Barry Manilow. So I guess today is a photoblog of knitted items and karaoke fun. Which kind of sums up a few of my favorite things.

Did you watch American Idol? It was really good. I thought Diana was going to take it (her first two songs were really great) but Fantasia came through in the end and completely blew away Diana with her last song, 'I Believe', The American Idol Single That Will Be Released. (The song was really, really bad....cheesy lyrics and every cliche you could think of...and Anne Marie suggested that whoever wins should NOT have to release that horrible song as a single.) But I think Fantasia deserves to win, although I will be happy with either one of them. They both deserve a record deal anyways.

I can't believe tonight is the last night of Idol...what will I do with my Tuesday and Wednesday nights now? Knit, I guess.

P.S. We watched Law and Order SVU last night, too, and Jacob read on my blog that I thought Stabler was a hottie, and now whenever we watch it, he gives me a hard time. I'm hereby declaring that I also think Jacob is a hottie.

Carrie, I love the cami! You look fabulous in it! It really fits you well. Carrie, your voice was fabulous in that song you sent me! You have a gorgeous voice, and I seriously see a professional career in music for you!

Oh la la, Mademoiselle Carrie, you are gorgeous in your honeymoon cami! Va-va-voom! (And isn't Julia's design great?!?)

I am having fun looking at all the pictures you share. Keep 'em coming, please :-)

P.S. "Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl..." (Song will be running through my head all day now, thank you!)

Great looking Honeymoon Cami! I am working working on one of my very own too! Your ribbing looks much better than mine. I only hope that my Honeymoon will look as awesome as yours!

Jacob and Stabler do have the same hairdo...

Dude! Hot!!! I love your honeymoon!!! But now I realize why I wasn't drawn to it -- you look fabulous. I would look like a hefty tank with several missles on board. Wear with pride, dollface.

Great tank and what?!? No side seams, gotta do that one. Love the back photo too.

Your new tank is cute, cute, CUTE! I wanna know how you manage to fit 28 hours into a 24-hour day -- I have no idea how you do everything (multiple jobs, shows, karaoke contests, etc) and still have time to knit!

I love the bug pictures, too!

That tank top is, in my humble opinion, the coolest thing you've knitted. It fits you so well! I absolutely love it.

I took a study break last night and watched Fantasia and Diana sing their last songs. Diana is good - and I'm sure people have already been characterizing her as "just another Kelly Clarkson," - but I don't really see much in her. She's a performer, alright, but I am drawn to genuine and true emotion.
Which is why Fantasia is my new favorite singer! I was so moved by her last song (even though it's the cheesy AI single) and think she's just so awesome - her personality is so cool and collected. She's actually a diva, I guess. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am so glad that American Idol exists because we otherwise might not have ever heard of Fantasia.
YAY American Idol and YAY Fantasia!

Given your penchant for mad karoke and multiple jobs, I wonder where you find the time to make so many awesome knits but here you dish up yet another! Also, Stabler is a hottie but your Jacob looks like he could compete.

That fish is super scary! I love your honeymoon, it looks fabby - great fit and great colour :)

The tank looks great! And man, you guys are NUTS! I also like the can of beer in Jacob's hand while singing. He looks kind of possessed. Is he concentrating on the singing? He kind of looks like Stabler ... ha ha ha.

Yay for knitting..and shmoos. I agree with Anne Marie's assesment of the cheezy AI song...and with your assesment of Stabler!!!!Hee hee!!!

Yeah! I love honeymoon on you! You did such a nice job with it. I am soooooo honored that you decided to knit my design. This is huge incentive to get my honeymoon gallery up and running soon. I'll e-mail you when I do. xox

That tank looks GREAT! I'm thinking that I'll be knitting that soon too!

You continue to amaze me! I watch your blog regularly, but this is my first comment. You are always churning out beautiful stuff and keeping me laughing at the same time. Thanks for being an inspiration. BTW, tell Jacob you're not the only one who thinks Stabler is hot. It's nice to see *real* men (non-model look-alikes) on TV.

SEX-EEE! I love it! You knit that up pretty fast, too. You keep finishing things and I keep starting things. Bah.

Is that a real stuffed fish? You guys live in a world where you catch fish and get them stuffed? I am such a city girl. The only stuffed fish around here came from the freezer section of the grocery store.

Cute pics! I got through once last night for Fantasia and the recording was acutually her saying thanks for voting for me. Have a fun time watching it without me:(

Hey there! I found your site through a ton of other links on knitting and such. You make me want to make a ton of things. Keep it up!

Looking at what you've done and sites you got patterns from, I have like...16 projects set up, haha. :)

I have to admit, I gave up on AI and FOX in general a couple weeks ago, so I haven't been paying attention. But go Fantasia! Even though she's destined for a contract whether she wins or not.

Your Honeymoon cami rocks the house!

I never did get through to vote last night...although I stopped about 12:00. I am glad you love your pink tank. It's so cute. I'm going to by some more yarn today online to finish my Sophie bag. I have yet to make one single thing where I haven't run out of yarn. I always think that I will magically be the one person that will make it with 1 skein instead on 2. I am a big dummy.

I didn't particularily like the "I Believe" song, but I cried when Fantasia sung it. Big, weepy tears. Like a big baby. Oy!
