Hello!

my schmoos playing!

First things first...I left the batteries for my digital camera in Atlanta, so I can't show you a picture of the absolutely fabulous gift that my Secret Pal sent me. So, I'll tell you about it and post a pic as soon as I can. I got a beautiful little jewelry box -- it's blue with a big red C on it. So cute! And inside... TWO pairs of earrings, an adorable little button, and a pretty silver stone. Secret Pal, you made my day! What a great package to come home to! I promise I'll show you how cute everything is soon. Thank you SKP!!! I even wore one pair of earrings to the Britney show! (how'd you like my segue?)

The Britney concert was fantastic. It was almost more like a Broadway show than a concert...complete with elaborate set, costume changes galore, and some completely awesome dancers, including Britney herself. Our seats were really great too (thanks Cat!)

Cathy and I did however, feel like Waldorf and Statler on the Muppet Show as we grumbled about the teeny boppers who were there. Their outfits were ridiculous! As in, too short, and inappropriate, and I don't get offended easily. Then, the show itself was VERY risque, which again made us grumble about the younger kids (as in, why did their parents bring them to this show when it seems like Britney is moving towards a not-fer-kids image??) Makes you realize how old you are when you start grumbling about them young kids.....

But the show was highly entertaining, and worth every penny (of my sister's hard-earned money). To the Britney haters: SHE ROCKED MY FACE OFF.

It's been a rocky week for me, I have to say. We are in the middle of moving, and finding the time to load up and make trips over has been really hard. We've definitely made a dent in the furniture, but there's still SO MUCH. And a piano. Acck!! Send muscles.

And, to top that off, the woman who I was having problems with before (see this entry ) emailed me last night and basically said that everyone in the cast of my play is mad at me and thinks I'm selfish and I'm ruining the morale of the cast. Without going into too much detail, I have no idea what she's talking about and neither do several cast members. But her email was long, and detailed and super hurtful and I stressed about it all last night. Yay stomachaches. Why do I care what people think or are saying? Someone is always not going to like me, I know this....can't please everyone all of the time. Right?!?! Right?!!?

So, I'm ready for a long, relaxing weekend of....moving. Ha. No, I really do think it will be refreshing to get out of the old house, into a shiny new house with more space to stretch out. I do have some good news, too, but I'm saving that for a picture filled, happy time post!

hey when did you do the redesign? (hello are you on your third look already?) it's awesome! i LOVE the girl's glasses!!! where can i get a pair of those?

I was going to say what Carolyn said. Totally print up that email and bring it to rehearsal and have a group discussion about it, and include bitch-lady in the discussion. Then we'll see who the morale-ruiner is. I think a good idea would be to use the email to say to everyone that if anyone has a problem with how things are going, then you should all get together to discuss them rather than send hurtful emails to each other.

Your new look is too cool! You've gotta make my page look nifty like yours! (Nice of me to give you orders like that, huh :D?)

I'm glad you had fun at the concert. I'm with Jen--I'm a bit of a closet fan. I have a funny story about BS I'll have to tell the group later on today.

And tell that psycho woman where to shove it!

What in the world could that woman be mad about? Carrie, you are fantastic and she's jealous of how awesome you are.

Carrie,

Not everyone can be "happy campers" like we are.

Haven't you ever heard that it hurts the person more when you ignore them.....so ignore that person and don't even mention her in your blog or to anyone. Don't give it a second thought, brush it off and move on, you don't need people like that in your happy life!

Life is too short to be cold and bitter.

We all think you're great Carrie, and we are are the ones who really count, right!

Have a great knitting day! Can't wait to see your picutres.

Firstly, I love your new look. What a pretty layout, Miss Carrie!

Secondly, the pictures of your schmoos are cute, cute, cute.

Thirdly, pay that woman no freaking heed. What in the WORLD gets into people who feel like they can speak for everybody? It's a loser's way of attempting to gain credibility. Ignore her. Knit on, remain happy, and remember that I (and I'm not alone, I'm sure) think you're a fabulous person!!!!!

Yikes. Sounds like something a girl did to me...in EIGHTH GRADE.

Have you moved the piano before? If not, hire professional piano movers.

I'm glad you had fun at the concert! I'm thrilled to know that I'm not the only one who thinks "those teenyboppers" have let their fashion choices get out of hand...cover up those boobs and take off a layer of mascara, you 11-year-olds! Hee hee... And forget about that mean person and realize that you're sooo above her pettiness. :)

Love your new look! And that girl, I think jen summed it up well. That girl is just starving for your attention.

Here's hoping you have a smooth move.

Don't let Little Miss Evil bring you down! She sounds really insecure, and is taking it out on you.

I live next door to a guy in his early 20s (or late teens) who owns a monster truck and insists on taking the speed bumps at 50 mph while blasting Sublime. I like sublime, but LORD. I always catch myself muttering under my breath about 'the damn kids'. When did this HAPPEN?

ANYWAY. Good luck with your move, may it be zen-like and smooth. (or at least fast and painless.) Don't give LME another thought. She is lame! LAME!!!!!!!!!

did you see my little sister at Britney? Her boyfriend bought 3 tickets: one for my sister, one for my mom (?!) and one for him (of course). My mom said she thought it was very sexual but that she enjoyed the dancing.
I'm sorry the evil-doer is still emailing you hate letters. Whatever - you are the most morale-boosting, cheerful person east of the mississippi, so she hasn't a leg to stand on.
Don't let it get you down.
Good luck moving - it will be over soon!
XOXOXO Mwa!

Love the new blog look! And I love that you went to see BS. I am a closet Britney fan. I don't really like her music, I simply find her and her the whole phenomenon fascinating. Like when you can't take your eyes off a car wreck.

About that crazy woman, I've said it before and I'll say it again: she's just jealous of your supah-stah talents. Ignore her and she'll go away. She's just looking to get a reaction out of you. Tell her to save the drama for her momma and get out yer face, bi-aatch!

Your comments about the teeny-boopers (does that term date me??) at the Brittany show cracked me up. I heard a local talk show host complaining about the same thing the morning after the concert. Makes you wonder who's in charge in those households - oh wait, I know!! Glad you had a great time at the concert, even though I don't really care for Brittany.

Hey, Just wanted you to know that I think your blog rocks! I am fairly new to the knitting world (1 year), and stumbled upon your site while doing a search, you have inspired me to make the homespun pants, wish me luck...and again thanks for the knitting inspiration!
Kate

Dude. PRINT OUT HER EMAIL. Bring it to rehearsal. I bet you will find out that very few people are in agreement with her, and most will probably be very irritated that she sent you that bullshit. she is counting on you being meek about it and not wanting to cause trouble and i don't want to keep swearing in every comment i leave you so i can't really say the rest of what i want to say right now.

Poor you, dealing with both moving and an icky person with meanness inside her. Either one would stress me WAY out, and you have both. You can do it! You can finish moving and make your home a haven where you can be happy and bubbly and bright, all the things that the Evil Woman is jealous of you for being. She can go sit on a dpn, you rock!
