My Poppies are Perky
So, I was so excited about making the Poppies pattern from MagKnits that I raced home last night and knitted one up. What fun! I used some Noro Kureyon that I had left over from Christmas, and check it out:
Oh, Kureyon, how I love thee and thy wondrous felting abilities.
Yay for felted flowers! (By the way, in the picture above, my little flower is nestled on one finished leg of my No Sweat Pants. Started Leg 2 last night! So fun!) I have a feeling that a lot of my leftover wool scraps are going to turn into little felted treats to embellish my knitted items. I'm inspired by this pattern to create my own flower designs! Yay for Magknits! Seriously, these flowers are fun and fast..and can you imagine it pinned on my shirt? I'm so Carrie Bradshaw a la Sex and the City. And my name's Carrie, too, so that means I'm even MORE Carrie Bradshaw....(too bad Jacob told me the other night that I was like Charlotte! What?!?!? I refuse to accept that)
It's another beautiful day, and I'm gonna take another walk that might morph into a run. We shall see. In any case, I know that I will be knitting tonight, and maybe karaoke-ing, and hopefully sleeping at some point. Probably in that order too.
The $1000 karaoke competition is inching closer....March 19...any more suggestions for songs? I'm leaning towards Flashdance (What a Feeling!) because I know it and I'm comfortable with it. And I can RAWK it out. But I know some of you MUST have some rawkin' suggestions of your own...come on....I need the money! I promised my friends that I would buy one drink for every person who comes to cheer me on if I win $1000. The offer is open to you, too, dear reader, if you can make it to Georgia! That flower is great! Everyone is working on great flowers ranging from felted knits to crocheted ones. They are all awesome! I think we need a flower-along!
I just love it! I will definitely be using some left-over Kureyon for that flower!

Very cute poppy, that would look great pinned on tops, bags anything really! And a good idea for scraps of wool as well.

I love the flowers! Love them! I want to knit them too! You did that so fast. Now, take a pic of them with you wearing them asap so I can get the full look. I want the pants too! Way to go!

I think you should stick up with Flashdance song. Mainly if you feel comfortable and sure, that is a big plus. Good luck :)

Best of luck to you in the Karaoke competition... What a Feeling! is a great song! You'll have to wear the legwarmers on stage for the 'total' flashdance effect - and maybe some matching wristwarmers! I think you'd make a great Carrie Bradshaw... To go with the flower you'd better get a Carrie necklace.. I see they're becoming all the rage again.

what if you did the footloose song and you also learned the dance to it? :) i mean if you do flashdance, you have to wear an off shoulder sweatshirt. what about that song looking for love in all the wrong places, then you can wear a cowboy hat... i am just full of suggestions along these lines :) i know you will win!!

Flashdance would probably win it for you. You CAN rawk that one. I've seen it! And you also rock some "Never Can Say Goodbye" too. But I think Flashdance sounds like the one. Yay you are so going to win!

Taylor told me I was like Charlotte too! Maybe they just think Charlotte is the hottest and are associating our hot bods with hers. Yeah. But if it were up to me I would want my girlfriend to be like Carrie Bradshaw hands down! What in the world are they thinking??!?
