Knit Blog Friends

How I missed you so! I was sick for two days...Thursday and Friday of last week...and I felt so out of it when I got to my computer and started reading blogs. Is this an unhealthy addiction? I think I was having withdrawals...But hi, I'm back. I had two shows this weekend, and they both went very well, hooray! and now I have a break until April when we re-open the show in a new theater with an even larger house to fill. (our current stage sat 72, this one will sit at least 140, maybe more! Yahoo!) So, plan your trips to Athens for April and May so you can come see my show. Tee hee.

Got lots of knitting done this weekend...I worked hard on my top down raglan, and I actually tried it one for the first time in a while. I still need 3 or 4 more inches on the body to be done. So I kept knitting. And knitting. I'm ever so much closer...but not there yet. At least I'm working on it.

And, I had a good heart to heart with my works in progress. Chickami? Wrong yarn, wrong gauge, just wrong. R-R-R-I-P-P! Frogged it. I had started Demure with some yarn that was so NOT even close to the right gauge that I doubled it and then realized how silly it looked...R-R-I-I-P-P! Frogged that too. It was all very refreshing.

But it made me realize that I need to knit with the yarn I've got so I can clean that stash out, save me some money, and get yarn that matches the projects I want to do! Luckily, I have had some Katia Idea in my stash for a while and I've been waiting for a good project for it. I got gauge for a Chickami, so I started a wide strap Chickami with that. (My yarn is a creamy off white color.)

And, after surfing the knit blogs today, I am so going to make some afghan squares and swatches in this fabby way...Log Cabin Style! Go to Mason-Dixon Knitting for an excellent how to log-cabin post and general good times. They are really freakin' funny.

Okay, I know this is long, but a few more fun things to tell ya....my friend Karen from Knit N Purl Diva sent me this fabby knitting book in the mail. It's from 1947, and it totally rocks. Let me show you the ones I want to make...

I love the ribby goodness, myself. Those books are the best; and getting harder to find! Treasure it. Welcome back to good health!

So glad you're back and feeling better! That vintage pattern is wonderful. I loooooooooove vintage knitting books and collect them like crazy. They're such fun to browse.

Well I wondered where you were girl! I was hoping that MAYBE you and Jacob took off for a romatic weekend.

Sorry to hear you were sick, glad to hear you are much better.

I'm REALLY glad to see the book FINALLY made it to GA. Guess it took a little vacation on the way from CA to GA.

Hey, can we get your autograph before you hit Broadway????? :-) Max and Asio send you "schmoo kisses" for luck!

Take care of yourself.

Hey little Broadway Star! Glad you are well and knitting (or frogging) up a storm! Sometimes, we just know we have to frog. Remember when I got those knitting books from the 1940's? I love them too. There were a lot of patterns I wanted to try as well. Alas, we need more time! When is your big $1000 contest? Glad you're back :)

Hello! It's Kendall - Jacob's sister's boyfriend. (Wow, that sounds way more confusing than it actually is.)
I just wanted to write and thank you personally for the toboggans! It's been unusually cold since we moved to Florida, and I've worn mine at least once almost every single day. The colors are great, too.
I find that when I receive gifts that have been hand-crafted, I value them much more highly than if I were to purchase a similar item in a store. For some reason I remain conscious of the thought and work that was put into it as opposed to something off an assembly line. Do you ever plan on selling your stuffsomewhere other than ebay? I know they take a while to make - probably too long to actually keep up a store or anything. But you might be able to save knittings through the year and rent a booth at the mall or something around Christmas time to sell your stash.
Anyway, thanks!
Also, I've turned several people in my blog community on to Hill Valley Preservation Society from the link on your Carrieoke page. Everybody digs the music hardcore. Tell your sister I said to keep posting the Mp3s online. Some bands won't do it because they want people to buy a CD or whatever, but I think any of the people who heard the music on the site are 10 times more likely to go to a show now, and even buy merchandise when they get there.
Alright, gotta go. Keep up the smilin'.
