Mitten
I really am so tired of thinking of creative titles for my posts. Why am I so lazy? It is Friday, you know, so it's hard for me to get any work done....*sigh*. But it's almost the end of the day and time to relax!
My weekend will be super fun...I'm going shopping for Cat's wedding dress with my mom and sisters
tomorrow. Whee! Gotta bring the camera for that one. Then, I'll be knitting away all weekend hoping to finish some of the THREE projects I have going right now. Do you wanna see? Well, I only have a picture of one of them, but here it is, modeled by the always elegant Jacob...

I made my first mitten! Can you believe it? I used the Super Mitten pattern from Melanie Falick's Weekend Knitting, and this baby knitted up in about two nights. So fast. So pretty. And I really, really need something to keep my hands warm, so they're useful too. Yahoo! I predict a completed mitten pair by Monday.
I'm also working on a top down and a cardigan. Two sweaters for me! And I just recently acquired some new knitting books, so I'm hoping to find some more fun patterns to work on. One is a stitch dictionary, so I might do a topdown next time with some funky designs in it. Aw, hell, I don't know. I can dream about fancy knitting projects but in real life I'm all about saving the money.
Anyways, this week has been about knitting lots, and spending little, and working my little tail off at my job and rehearsing for my play which opens (gulp!) in two weeks exactly. (For those of you in Atlanta or Athens, prepare to get the mass email that shamelessly advertises my play very soon.) For those of you not in Georgia, maybe I'll post a pic or two of the play. I'm getting a little nervous though...and you know what happens when I get stage fright. Well, if you don't, refer to #64 on the About Me page of my blog.
On that note...Have a great weekend! :)

HI Carrie! key-ooooot mitten! Tell us all about how it went on stage this weekend, and whether or not your butt exploded! I hope not, but if it did, the $1000 should pay for any necessary bribes.

Hello Miss Carrieoke,
I love your mitten! I leafed through Melanie Falick's Weekend Knitting while I was in the States and I like the look of that book. Neat-o patterns, too.
Good luck with your play opening and keep us posted on your success, because I know you'll do well. I wish I were in the area so I could go see it!
XOXO

Lovin' the mittens, girl! I have not yet tackled mittens. I'm a wussy. Maybe I just haven't found the right pattern yet. I don't know. But yours looks great and just might be the inspiration I need... I'll keep ya posted! Oh, and what happened at karaoke night?!?!?

Yay for mittens! I wish I had a use for them, but I'm always warm.... and this is california....
Hey, don't forget to tell Bethany about your play - she'll make the drive on her day off, I'm sure! :) Wish I could go.....

I love the fact that mittens have less detail than gloves, so you can make them out of really chunky wool = mittens in a day! Yours look great.

Love the mitten! For a title, you could have put "One more Mitten and I'll Have Two!" Just put the first thing that comes into your head. How'd you do at Carrieoke last night? Have fun wedding dress shopping for Cat. Oh, I want to see a picture of your new journal... which one is it?

Now THAT is a beautiful mitten. I made some mittens for my sister once on my small loom, it was horrible! The came out to small! Yarn everywhere! Of course, I was at school and didnt have scissors, but thats not the point. Point is, those mittens are a work of art!
