I hate making up titles
It's so cold outside! And our little old house doesn't like the cold at all. It creeps inside through all the old cracks and crooks and holes in the wall...brrr. I need to knit me some gloves SOON.
This weekend was great fun. I got to see a lot of my twin sis, Cathy (and yes, Rachael, I love knitting sisters! And sisters in general! Ain't they great?) and we even took a trip to the yarn store here in Athens...we are so bad. But Cat's been wanting to try something a little harder than a scarf so I started her on a Glampyre top-down raglan...I think it's such a good, easy pattern that makes such a fabby sweater! You should have seen the bag of yarn she left with....I hope her fiance isn't reading this.
I actually started a top down of my own this weekend, in some leftover Lamb's Pride blue worsted. It knits so fast! I'm thinking that it's going to be a cardigan, and I actually practiced doing crocheted steeks this weekend on a sweater that I knitted that I HATE. And it worked! The sweater may actually turn out wearable. Pics of that later.
And now, for some pictures! Here is my sister Michelle's latest hat, modeled by her husband David....

She knit it on 5s! She is a brave knitter, and isn't it lovely!
Also, here's a hat that I knit for Jacob's sister's boyfriend Kendall ....modeled by my dear boyfriend Jacob....

Click here to see how much Bella liked the hat....
In other knitting news, I have added two new knitting blogs to my list on the right....Two Purls and Knit N Purl Diva. Check these ladies out! They are new to the knit blog world, and I already love reading their entries.
Also - where are you, knitting dog lovers? We've got six sites in the Purling Puppy web ring...come out of the woodwork! We know you love your doggies! Proclaim it to the world! Go here to read the rules, and here to join!

Yep, knitting sisters are cool. But here is to the sisters that teach us to knit! For they are the coolest!
Love the hats! I think hats are the most fun to make. I plan on getting a dog when I settle down; until then, I sent a couple bloggers your way. Great idea!

Hi Carrie,
Thanks for the referring link on your blog to Two Purls. :) I love the new hats you and your sisters made. That picture of Bella and Jacob is too adorable! Aren't hats the best? There is only one to finish up (unlike those mittens you mentioned wanting to knit...) and it doesn't even take too long from start to finish. Knit on! Woof! (that's from Oscar)...

What a talented knitting family you all are! I can see Christmas and birthdays being home to lots of lovely soft squishy packages this year..
I wish I had a dog so that I could join your new ring, I'm so far from being a cat person but I do love dogs. Sounds like a good idea!

Carrie,
I forgot to ask. E-mail me with help on adding the puppy ring to my site.
Thanks.

Carrie,
You and you sister are so sweet. Thanks for helping me.
Sounds like you have your hands full with Jacob and his "nittin coonhounds". Looks like life would be such a bore without him, he seems like good entertainment for you.

HaHa.. I love these posts! The hats are great Carrie. I have trouble knitting hats the correct size so I have been avoiding starting any. The new pictures are great! I like the one with Jacob and Bella kissing the hat. See, dogs are so appreciative of handmade items... It's too bad more people can't be like our beloved dogs. I'd like to join the puppy ring, but I don't have a puppy.

I love the hats! I am still too scared (and broke) to try knitting a sweater. Have you knit 800 already?
