TGIF! again!
This week has F-L-O-W-N by...I can't believe that next week is my last week as the Myers Community Secretary and on November 17th I will be the Project Coordinator for Campus Information Technology Partnerships. (Hey, don't it sound fancy?) Woo-hoo. I'm starting to get a little teary-eyed about leaving all the residents and my student workers... my workers are like my little brothers and sisters and I'm really going to miss them. Check out two of them, Robby and Sarah, here...I'll still be with the University but it's just not the same...
And, I'm getting a little nervous about starting the new job. I fear change...in all forms... and a new job=new people, new projects, new location, etc. Acck! I know I can do it...and I will be good...but what if I'm not? Aacck! Deep breaths, deep breaths....
But what better to boost my confidence than succeeding at a new knitting technique? (Do you like my transition into knitting talk???) I'm working on my secret project that is apparently not secret at all because Jacob is a guru at guessing presents. So, I guess I can talk about it because he already confessed that he knows what it is. I am working on a hat for Jacob's birthday that says "Can Ya Dig It?" (per his request...) and I actually got the letters to work!! I printed some knitting graph paper and graphed the letters out and just started a-knittin' away...it looks pretty good, too! I don't know if I'm doing the whole intarsia thing right but we shall see. I may post pictures in a secret location...aww, no point in being mysterious. Jacob and his darn guessing ability.... but I'm really excited about it.
I'm going to be starting all my Christmas presents in the next week or so...gotta buy yarn and get going, or everyone's getting swatches for Christmas.
Hope you all have a great weekend! I'm planning on knitting and washing the dogs!

Well, since you are impossible to get in touch with, I thought I'd post. I want a hat that says "PUNKY". I'll buy you the yarn :)
We were going to come up today, but I couldn't get a hold of you to make plans... maybe another time...

So happy about your new job! It's normal for you to be nervous about the change, but I know you'll do well.
I like the idea for Jacob's hat! [Hee hee...can you dig it? Love it.] Intarsia is easy once you get the hang of it. I find that Katharina Buss' Book of Knitting has a good summary on intarsia, complete with photos. It's the book I used when I did my first intarsia project. And! You'll probably be able to find it at a library. Check it out!

Yay for the new job!!! You deserve it!

Impressed that you are doing intarsia...graphing......figuring it all out. Can't wait to see it! Every time I left a job, I cried when I left the people, but it was always the best thing for me in retrospect, so you will be all settled in to your new job, happy and confident, very soon.

Tis about damn time you posted again :)
I think you should get business cards with your new job...you know, for free lunch drawing and whatnot. You have inspired me to knit a word hat for Debbie for Christmas. I think it will say 'Puntag'.
Wait 'til you see the double stitch scarf I made for my niece. Have a great weekend! Love, AM
