yay, weekend.
Look at this nifty site I drifted on to yesterday! It's called HeadHuggers, and they are making hats for people who have lost their hair due to chemo, brain surgery, burn wounds, etc. And check out the awesome patterns they provide for the hats! I think I'm going to make a few!!
Yesterday, I taught one of my student workers Sarah how to knit while we were bored in the office. I love teaching other people because they get so excited when they finally get it and start zooming along (I still get excited because I'm hyper)
Yay for sharing the knitting love.
Finally got some pictures of the baby blanket and hat. Now, as you will recall from past entries, my little 'toy' digital camera (the Jam Cam!!) doesn't take fabulous pictures. But this is the best I can do right now....although Jacob got his lens last night for his totally extraordinary Canon 10D and once we get a memory card, I (well, probably Jacob) will be taking some mac-daddy pictures of my knitting. (I'm sure that's what intended him to use his professional quality camera for) But hey...he has to practice with it somehow, right??
Anyways, here's some JamCam pics of the latest creations:

the little one can wear it rolled up or down! Yay for fun, quick baby gifts.
This weekend is slated for relaxing, going to the baby shower, knitting on the front of my poncho, and hopefully finishing Mr. Top Down Raglan. Then, on to buying new yarn for the huge list of Christmas presents that I need to start working on. Aacck! So much to do, so little money. Hopefully one of my new job possibilities will pan out very soon so I can pay my bills AND buy yarn. Because I really hate having to choose....
Everyone have a great weekend!

I posted a comment yesteday and it's not here now, so I'll post it again. Carrie, the blanket and the hat are gorgeous. I love the ribbon in the little blanket. The recipient is going to love your gifts. You did a great job!

Carrie--they both look fabulous! What patterns did you use? I have to knit up some baby stuff in the coming months...

That blanket and hat look GREAT! I can't believe that you thought your finishing was less than perfect. You go, Carrie :-)
And I can't wait to see those "mac-daddy" shots of your knitting! (The phrase "mac-daddy" made me chuckle when I read it, so I'm sure I'll be saying it all day today even though no one will understand me. Hee hee!)

Knitting hats for cancer patients is a great idea! Mabye everyone in the knitting group could do one and we could donate them. Sounds like some fun knitting times...
