it's a s-l-l-o-o-w-w day

hey !

It's so slow in my office today that I'm having trouble staying awake and focused. Which means that I am surfing the internet for yarn deals....which I shouldn't be doing because payday isn't until next week!! But I'm really wanting to get started on my Christmas presents. I've decided to knit something for everyone in my immediate family (that's Mom, Dad, Michelle my older sister, Cathy my twin sister, and Michelle's husband Dave). Then, I want to knit something for Jacob that he'll actually wear but he keeps requesting a "reindeer sweater" and I don't know if he's serious. He says he is...he does have odd taste in clothes sometimes....... but I don't know if I can find a decent pattern for that.

Anyways, I need to start getting these projects started so I need to buy yarn! Acck!! Meanwhile, I'm still workin on Beribboned Baby Blanket ...almost finito....and my poncho...back done.....and my top down raglan, which is now my new obsession. (I'm so fickle with my projects.) I just love this pattern! (Thanks, Stef!) Here's a picture of me wearing my half-done yoke ... isn't the raglan cute?? And it's so freaking fast! I think I'm going to put some stripes in this one too just for fun. It's my first one, so the first couple of increase rows aren't beautiful, but I think I've got the hang of it now.

This weekend is fun times with Jacob's family (a birthday party) and my sister Cathy is coming up with her dogs to play at the park. It should be nice and relaxing! And I'll probably be knitting a lot too...try to finish up the old projects so I can feel good about starting the Xmas collection!

Interesting information on this blog, thanks

I am trying to find a jersey just like the one Mark Darcy wore in Bridget Jones' Diary- do you have ANY idea where I can find one, or someone to make one for me?

Sarah beat me to it, but your post also made me think of Mahk Dahcy's jumpah in Bridget Jones' Diary. Hey, it's a good excuse to go and rent the movie -- call it knitting research!

Does he mean reindeer sweater as in Bridget-Jones'-Diary-Mark-Darcy-reindeer-jumpah? Because that would be hi-freakin-larious.
Um, apparently I'm in a hyphenating mood. Sorry-o.
I love the raglan - I'm going to have to try one of those soon.

That's so funny about the Reindeer sweater! Ryan has a pic. of him when he was 6 or so in a reindeer snowflake sweater--he hates it! I give him crap all the time and threaten to make him a reindeer sweater. Alas, I am relegated to designing band logos! Consider yourself lucky :D

PS--The raglan looks sweet!

One of the best blogs yet. Seriously. I was told I had to comment, or I would be lurking.
michael (a friend of knitster)

gotta love those top down raglans!!! which pattern are you using? i'm on the body of a top down zip jacket, and can't wait until its done. even though, with GA weather, I probably won't need it until november.

That sweater is so cute. Did you get my email about the Athens guy??

I wish it was slow here. You can definitely tell it's Friday here at the old school. Hyper, hyper, hyper.

YAY knitting! I would like everything in the Phildar catalog, please :) Just kidding...

Lord, it is slow here too, what is it about Friday mornings? so I am reading my favorite knitting blogs and trying not to fantasize about the baby sweater I am working on - all in moss stitch! So cute, but sometimes I am ready to THROW IT OUT THE WINDOW. sigh.

congrats on the poncho - you knit so fast!

You look so cute wearing that half done yoke...I do that all the time, pulling on projects that are still on needles. Can you imagine if we walked around like that? Hee hee.

I admire you for knitting everyone's Christmas presents! I should do the same.

Have fun at the birthday party! :-)
