do blonds have more fun?

I've been knittin' away on my poncho. It looks pretty cool, although I'm not 100% sure that I'm doing the k2tbl and p2tbl correctly. It looks right....I think....we'll see! I'm getting my Phildar catalogs on Saturday and I cannot wait. I know I'm going to want to spend enormous amounts of money on yarn to make pretty things for presents....and for me.... but I will exercise self control. I will.

I'm trying to learn how to crochet so I crochet edges for finishing and it's freakin' hard for me. Is it because I'm left-handed? Or because I'm a knitter and my hands are resisting the dark side? Either way, I need help. Does anyone know of a good website with one of those funky animated hands that are actually showing you how to do it?

In non-knitting news....I got an interview for a job....I'm trying not to get too excited about it, because I know a bajillion people applied, but yay! Someone actually called me back after reading my resume! (It's been awhile). It's Friday afternoon so everyone send happy good professional successful job offer wishes. And, on another note, I got my hair done...and it's a little bit blonder now! I really like it...It's the lightest my hair has ever been. And I'm digging it.
Also --everybody cross their fingers that Hurricane Isabel doesn't wreak too much havoc....My dad just moved to Mt Olive NC, about 60 miles from the coast, and I'm a little nervous about it.

I'm off to work ....

...if I can find the book...

crochet is probably so hard because I "accidentally" removed your How To... book from the state of Georgia in my renegade U-Haul.
scanning the crochet pages time before grad school starts tomorrow time? yes. i try to be a good friend. i really do.

Hope your dad was okay in NC - I just moved from there to Annapolis - and got hit by Isabel anyway!! As for your poncho, -----don't knit it too fast because I want to join in - and I haven't even started yet!!
Anyhoo, here's a good site with crochet instruction links, including some for lefties! take care-

[Crossing fingers for you!]

Crochet...crochet...I don't know of a site that has animated images, but I know that there are some quicktime videos at stitchguide.com.

Good luck on your interview!!! You'll do well. And! You have a fabby new hair look :-) (Having hair I'm happy with always does wonders for me.)
