it's almost friday! it's almost friday!
how did i get such an adorable schmoo? i posted her monkey pic in honor of monkey knits and my new knit-along friends!
last night we drove to Atlanta to help clean out my dad's apartment (he just moved to North Carolina). Aside from the yucky cleaning part, it was cool because Jacob and I totally scored a bunch of kitchen stuff....pots, pans, utensils, a microwave (!), and ...i got a desk for my knitting officein my new house! woo-hoo! unfortunately, all of that stuff is STILL in my car since we didn't get back to Athens until midnight. my car looks very white trash today....
We stopped by our new house yesterday since the former tenants have moved out and finally saw it sans furniture. it is a cute, cute house...that needs LOTS of work. I think Jacob was a little overwhelmed...we have to paint the whole place, maybe even some of the hardwood floors, repair some holes in the wall, and clean, clean, clean!! The landlords are giving us super cheap rent...in return, we kind of agreed to move into the house as is. I'm trying to think of it as a fun crafty project...painting! repairing! oh boy! it's craft time! can I knit a patch for a hole in the wall? :)
in knitting news, i knitted on cleo all the way to atlanta and all the way back (i'm proud to say that i knitted stockinette stitch rows in the dark for a full hour and a half. i felt cool.) it's getting close!

cleo is cookin
i knitted on cleo and stef's glasses case yesterday. (i am slightly ashamed to admit that i slept until 1:00 yesterday, and then i took a nap around 4:00. my little body needed some rest! or, i'm lazy.) cleo is looking good! i am a little worried about the skimpiness of it...but i will forge ahead and see what happens. stefanie's glasses case version 2.0 is a little wide, so i think i'm going to send her both, just in case she has really big sunglasses.
i am moving into a new house on august 8th and we get the keys THIS FRIDAY....i am excited but dreading moving. and, this weekend, my office is moving into a different building, so i will be packing at home and at work. yuck. my dogs are confused by the boxes that are in our house right now. we put bella in a big box last night to see what she thought, but she wasn't amused. i hope they like our new house as much as i'm going to. it's a pink house (!) and it's all hardwood floors with a big backyard for the schmoos. we have some cleaning and fixing-up to do because it's older, but jacob is really good at fixing- up (which i guess makes me the cleaner!!) i can't wait.....i'll actually have a little office where i can have a space for my yarn stash and knitting books, etc....fun times!

ch-ch-ch-changes....
thanks for all the comments! i'm still working on the title image some but hopefully i can stop tweaking it soon and just be satisfied. i love movable type.
in knitting news, cleo is coming along nicely. i also gave sabina (my student) her harry potter scarf, and she LOVED it!! she put it on even though it's 90+ degrees here and danced around... i felt like a good knitter. and a good person.
so i'm not at work today because i took a mental health day...last night i was waiting tables on free wing night, or, hell, as the servers call it, and one of the bartenders got mad at me and called me a very rude name in front of everyone, and basically chewed me out. since i'd already had a bad day at my full time job, i broke down crying and ran to the manager...and people sort of expect you to be tough in the restaurant industry...so i'm taking a day of rest today,in my typically NOT tough fashion. i'm a wimp, what can i say?

well, i think this thing is finally working. any comments on the orange colors? I kinda like them! i need critiques...is the font too small? obviously i didn't design this but i think i can change the font size if necessary. let me know what you think! more later....
